I know there are much bigger and more important problems as a result of the recent disaster and problems that the Japanese people in Japan, and possible other countries are experiencing right now... My thoughts and prayers go out to them (I'm Japanese American.)

On a side note, I'm kinda concerned and wondering if the boat that was coming over from Taiwan - carrying all the new 2011 Jedi frames had any troubles in the water with the tsunami? If so, I'm screwed for a race bike this season!!!! I already sold my jedi, and my intense m6.... :( anyone know about tsunami's in the middle of the ocean - away from shore??? Does the swell get big out there, or only as it comes close to shore????

Don't worry I'm sure your frame is fine. The wave from the Tsunami would have dissipated enough to ensure your frame is okay.

No the swell isn't big enought when it's in the middle of the ocean caused by the quake,you probally hover on the wave with your boat when that happens.It's get nasty when it reaches the shore with waves of 10m tall or more that travels with great speeds.

The energy as it goes through the ocean is more of a motion not a wave its not till the energy gets resistance from the shelf shallowing that the energy is transgress up and away causing wave height and the slowing from 500mph+ to 40-50mph and the energy is then made up in the form of height.

Rogue waves are a ship killer and those are usually not a result of earthquakes...

So im pretty sure the bikes are fine.....:thumb:

This can be true but the wave will not break until the water is around half as deep as the wave is tall. Out in the open ocean, it will be a gentle roller.

Yeah, i can tell you firsthand...rogue waves are NUTS....i worked in the bering sea last winter....that tsunami wouldn't affect anything in the open ocean or on the west coast....
