I'm pretty sure matti only does well on ridiculously difficult tracks. On the more endurance and power based ones he loses focus and hurts himself.
Was Brazil a ridiculously difficult track? From what I've seen it wasn't and its where he got his first win.

My money is on Minnaar because of home court advantage.

Anyone else stoked to see this race !?!? (on the internets or otherwise)

I'm going to guess that it will be wet and Gwin will win partially because of other big dog(s) crashing.

Go USA!!

I wonder if Mick can make another comback on this track. Last season was kinda meh for him.

Gwin has said in the past (I think in a interview from Champery last year) saying that hes not his best in the wet weather.

Though I hope he can pull a win. Especially on the season opener! That would be the best boost in confidence for him and the USA.

Did he ever start really strong? I'd also count Gee out as his always a bit worse at the season start.

I don't think Gwin has. But the pre-world cup season races hes been doing hes been killing it. So who knows. It seems like the training with John Tomac is paying off so far...

Maybe though non WC races should not be an idicator. If they were Polc would be top 10 ;) Most of the pros even if they start in them they go easier to avoid injuries.

Cant believe I am away from home and only getting back 1 week after the race. I made Fort William last year and it was rediculous. Wish I could see them race on my home turf.
Yuroshek - good luck amn.

He has none. Believe me, when ever i've been around him the last few months randoms crawling out the woodwork have put insane pressure on him!! But he's still my pick for the win!

YEEEAAAAAH , look at third place. Go Hayden!!! what a pinner!! so stocked he's on such good form for the world cup!(Incase you didnt realise, he's the local rider who did that chest cam run on dirt a few weeks ago) Hopefully an international outfit realises how quick he is and picks him up!

Last weekend really caught us off guard though, we almost never have precipitation like that in PMB. That said, it will be dry, it will be fast and it will be off the hook!!!!

What a bunch of fuddy-duddys you guys are.
fuddy duddy or not, those uniforms are fugly... it seems TLD just keeps making their stuff uglier and uglier every year. Why are we emulating moto? we are our own sport gawdammit.

anyways... that flat segment is going to be brutal if it stays this wet. I predict the top five will be

minnaar
gee
gwin
barel
graves

Seriously who cares if you like their kit or their bikes, focus on the riding and racing. Im not even saying that becasue I think their kit is bad ass, its just retatrded that theirs 12 posts talking about the pajamas. Its the same as Shimzz and Root beer and all that crap.
Gonna be a sick race, Steve Smith FTW.
