Watch out for that cheap resort hooch. You'll wake up missing a kidney. :thumb:
Staying at a house. We all good. Anyways, apparently my kidneys are overrated.

So much win

I had a dickhead tailgating me flashing his headlights as I slowed for a red light on the highway. When the light went green he blew around me, flipped me off. I was doing 55 in a 50 zone. He took off at 70+. Too bad he didn't see the motorcycle cop in the median with the radar gun. Got his ass pulled right over. :busted:

Had wanted to take today off, but work got in the way. Now it's looking like I may actually be able to take the afternoon off, which allows time for a ride. woop woop!

Damn, Garver is good bit outside of Yaak which is already the end of the road/world...

If you haven't been before, there's a small section of old growth cedar grove North of Libby that they didn't log and turned into a tiny state park

https://www.visitmt.com/listings/general/national-forest-picnic-ground/ross-creek-cedar-grove-scenic-area.html

It's not the Pacific NW cedar/redwoods but it's pretty cool for MT, since lodgepole pine and aspen are our overwhelmingly predominant species...

And of course reach out if you'll be in SW MT/Yellowstone area...

Buddy who was coming with me early to Pennsylvania next week before DirtFest has officially bailed due to some family stuff. He sounded really bummed about it and felt bad about bailing, but I assured him no big deal. I will however have him pick me up a few Troegs for good measure when he drives down on Friday, afterall I did take off all of next week just to go down early with him. :D

So I'll be going solo and still sticking with the plan to ride Ellicottville and then a loop in Rothrock. Maybe I'll go ride Tussey Ridge that @Jozz mentioned. The guys still want to do the big Coopers Gap loop, but we'll move that to next Sunday.

And a side benefit, with just one person I can just sleep in the back of my car and not worry about pitching a tent somewhere or anything like that.

every time you post about your town you sound more like a nimby

I know you're just trolling, but I'm the outlier here. Rather than retaining a RE lawyer and suing the town, miring it in litigation and delaying necessary projects, I'm working with the DPW director to enhance my quality of life while he gets what he needs without delay.

As for Timmy's camp, there is a luxury summer camp here in town that operates at $800/week in the summer months. It's in the wealthy part of town (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT) and the owner has decided to sell after 65 years of showing rich kids what a tree and canoe are. Anyways, our town has decided to put an offer in to purchase the camp at $11m, while it's valued at $6m by people who make a living discussing the value of such things. They called a meeting when 50% of the town board was on vacation, and pushed forward with the plan despite not being approved by the financial commission, then land acquisition commission, the capital improvement commission, nor the parks and req commission (that's 0/4 for those keeping score). The 11m would come out of additional taxes (ie not in the budget, not paid by grants, not funded by the sale of other land). There has been no consideration for the cost of maintenance ($150k annually) insurance (150k annually) or any of the employees that run the camp or planning or anything else. This comes less than 6mo after acquiring a horse farm for $6m.

The land owners are threatening people with development if the town doesn't buy it. The richies are concerned that development means more people, and that's simply not acceptable, ever.

So yeah, I say fuck it, let the loser landowner get hosed by a real developer, let the town keep its money, build some $1.5m houses and fill our schools back up, our businesses with money, and fuck your sightlines. Fund the development of a new senior center and build out the land we already own instead.

I dragged my ass out of bed so that I could drop off the kids. I stuck around at Yuna’s school and did a half hour presentation on Japan to the little kids. Half of the class really likes seaweed, go figure. Went through four packages of it!

On Friday I’m going to Mariko’s school for Hero Day, since she picked me as her hero.

I may be able to meet you there I rode there about 6 years ago with a couple friends we got lost so we were not able to fully enjoy the trails
