Nope, glad you were nice enough to take photos of what you had come up with. Since then I have seen one with a external cup headset which would also be a good fix.
You should be on the red spring for your fork and I would suggest starting out with the base settings that are in the manual and adjusting from there.

I wear a medium in the V3R but if I were to buy a D3 I would buy a large after trying on a friends new D3. You should be able to find a moto shop that has the moto version V3 and the sizing is very close if not the same between the two versions. I do not know what you have local but FOX moto is...
I used a V3R last year and really liked it. It is like a medium sized version of the V3 moto helmet which I had used the previous 2 season. I think(but dont hold me to it)the V3R is lighter than the D3,not by much but every little bit helps. I ran mine with the Alpinestars BNS brace. It works...
