Hey was down there the other day and after making several runs down Greenhorn, onto the DH trail next to alpine, onto alpine and down to the bottom it occured to me. My son was the reason I was riding those trails repeatedly. How would the outcome work if Diablo held a few kids races such as...
still interested in donating for some pics, if anyone came across some of me and my kid let me know. It would be good to have a poster to go with my 1st place pro class trophy in both dual slalom and downhill.
Allright gotta chime in here, seams IAMAPRO has had a hard on for me for a while, how the hell did I get dragged into this. Which bike has to be tied to my ass and who am I racing against? Either IAMAPRO has confidence in me or he just wants to slow me down so he can keep with me. Come on...
Hey, just a question, there were several photog's stating they were going to be accepting "donations" for pics this year at Diablo to support their equipment costs. I had stated if the right pic was taken I'd definitely donate to the cause. Well there were more flashes going off in my eyes at...
it starts to the left of dominion. It was a great starter hill with fast flowing lines, diablo finally has a true beginner downhill course. My son enjoyed running Greenhorn, both rock sections between it and Domboo? and then down domboo to alpine, after the progression drops, up to the 2...
Wanted to say thanks to diablo for a great first experience. I have raced other "downhill" events at festivals, XC races, and such. I have spent countless hours freeriding and dirtjumping. But the experience that I encountered at Diablo was a once in a lifetime event. It was my first REAL...
ok I think it is time to finalize all plans here, has anyone sneaked a peak at the DS course? This past weekend maybe? I know a DS course is a DS course, but I have been to courses that consisted of a serpent course down a smooth steep field and I have been to full out supercross tracks down...
thanks everyone, this has been one of the most informative threads to date in my opinion. I will check back tonight at about 10pm to make my final decision for tomorrow morning, if it is still good and a lot of trails are not closed I will be leaving at 5 am tomorrow. Thanks again. P.S. what...
Honestly you are making me jealous, you remind me of the day I would travel year round, race in whatever the climates through at me and loved it all. I am not going to lie, I would have the time of my life even if it was rain and mud to the axles but after 10 years of racing mountain bikes...
Thanks for the updates, this information is priceless. Hopefully we will see you all sunday morning. Oh and by the way WhattheHeck You spot me the $140 for race fees, $90 Gas Money, $85 Hotel Fees, and we'll gladly come down and race on YOUR hill, and give YOUR trail crew more work to repair...
Could one of the locals please keep the weather/conditions updated. I know I can just go to the weather channel but as far as I see it the weather forcast is like shooting a dart at the board and just as accurate. So is someone could keep the conditions updated randomly that would be great. I...
I was not busting on giants directly, just making a case in point that the same thing happened to a Giant Faith last year. Same scenerio with a faulty weld. I have owned 2 Giants in the past and they were great bikes, just don't like to see brand thrashing due to a single instance. That is in...
I have to agree with the not specific to brand bad weld comment. I am sure Eric Carter stands behind the brand and puts the bikes through a hell of a lot more than any of us can push these bikes. Oh by the way while everyone is jammin on mongoose, didn't I see a giant faith break at a weld...
I could be wrong but I would be contacting mongoose about that, I could be wrong but by the pictures it appears to be a weld issue, it looks as if the weld had pulled clean off the bottom bracket area, If I had to make a call with the pics I would have to say, man you have poor penetration.
Let's see, just my two cents but for this description of rider, Marin Quake, weight 36 lbs give or take, approx. 7" travel, pedal friendly, drop capable, jump superior, fun level, through the roof, in a nut shell comparable to the Santa Cruz nomad only 2K less. Again only a suggestion, I should...
sorry was not getting a point across, I hit the caps lock half way through the title and was too lazy to turn it off, notice the shOES? so any recommendations?
BY THE WAY WHAT KIND OF SHOES DOES SAM HILL WEAR, I NEED SOME GOOD SHOES TO STAY IN CONTACT WITH MY 50/50'S NEXT WEEKEND AT THE RACE? BUT SERIOUSLY ANY RECOMMENDATIONS, I HAVE TRIED A FEW DIFFERENT SHOES AND THEY ALL SEAM A LITTLE HARD SOLES TO REALLY GRIP MY PEDALS IN THE REALLY ROCKY STUFF AT...
so if I wear my spandex and skin tight jersey along with my cross country helmet I will win the US Open? Then again I'm pushing 190 lbs after the winter I don't think even I want to see me in my spandex.
