    2014 GT Fury

Finished the build tonight. Piece it together from various CL, eBay and LBS finds. Went together pretty smoothly. With only a couple rides around the block....I know I have alot to work to do to get it dialed in.

    2014 GT Fury

After much thought and crunching geometry numbers, I went ahead and bought the frame from Price Point, just picked it up today. Got it 90% built up tonight, just need a few more bits from my local LBS tomorrow and should be ready to ride tomorrow. Frame is pretty burly and lighter than I thought...

    2014 GT Fury

Thanks kidwoo- Huge is right...looking over the geo-numbers again, Fury in XS is almost touching MD numbers in manufacturers.

    2014 GT Fury

Also, whats the verdict on the '14 frame? I'm not a expert DH'ers and I'm ok with 26". Just looking for a solid park bike and may do a race or 2 in 16' for fun.

    2014 GT Fury

I'm thinking of purchasing the frame-only (PP has it for $999 right now, SM and XS only). Looking at the geometry numbers...it seem to be built very long. The numbers for a GT Fury SM is more like MD from most manufacturers and XS seems to be more inline with SM. Am I reading it right? Just...

    Mt. Baldy

Can you guys give me the skinny on riding Mt. Baldy? I have never been and I'm always down to try something new, good riding or bad. I understand only the Chair #1 is up and running, whats some of the recommend routes? and should I bring a DH dedicated or XC bike? Thanks.

    Mongoose ECD

From what I was told (by a local dealer), it was not all the 07's, only the ones that were manufactured in the 1st quarter, so I guess the really early versions, which I got. What happened to me was, after awhile, the pivot bolts would just not stay tight causing some play to develop at the...

    Mongoose ECD

If your buying new, you don't have to worry about it but if your looking at a 07 used one, make sure the frame comes with the updated hardware. While the Walmart Mongoose and Mongoose as we know it are different, the Mongoose as we know it tried to skip corners on their 1st few runs buy using...

    My ECD for 08...

Yeah, I replaced those with a hardened steel through bolt with nylok hex. The bolts I'm talking about are for the linkage that attaches the bottom bracket area to the bottom of the rear triangle with a black aluminum hinge attaching the 2 areas. I seem to be developing play in that...

    My ECD for 08...

Do you have any slight vertical play in your suspension? On mine, seems like the hardware seems to loosen on me at the BB lower linkages (the black linkage arm). LocTite and all, seems to have a little vertical play when I lift the bike up by the seat. I don't think it affects anything but...

    My ECD for 08...

Juat curious- How well does the Dual Ring setup work on the ECD? I thought about doing it to mine but figured, naw, not worth the trouble.

Thanks for posting your ride vids and keeping the places on the DL. I hope they keep the ride spot open. I know there is some heat going on down there.

How is Mongoose with warrenty claims?

Thanks guys for all the responses. Yeah, Mongoose is hard to get ahold of. I will try a few more times before heading out to a local dealer. Hope they can help me out like this forum has.

How is Mongoose with warrenty claims?

I have a 07 ECD. Got it 2nd hand from a Oakley employee, who got it from a local Mongoose sales rep. It was lightly used when I got it, and I've been pretty easy on it myself since I had it. I did notice the other day that seems like excess play has been developing in the main pivot point...I...

    Southern California bike park?

Wow, I need to come to this site more often. This is such great news for SoCA residents. With $4/gallon for gas looming in the very near future, trips to Mammoth and beyond for lift assisted runs will become less frequent for many of us, or at least given more then a 2nd thought when planning...

Any further reviews from Mongoose EC-D owners?

I dropped for one last night. Brought it home and just took it a spin around the block a few times to check it out. I will take it to some dirt this weekend. Seems like a really solid build of a bike. I did read numerous times about the flexing in the rear, I'm not too concerned about it...

Any further reviews from Mongoose EC-D owners?

Hi all- I'm a long time lurker and decided to register and ask about the Mongoose EC-D. I'm about to go ahead and get one myself and wanted to hear from folks around here who ride one and ask them what they think so far. So far, it's been hard to find some honest negitive reviews about...
