My yeti came with Ardent 2.4 front Ikon 2.2 3c/exo rear, was a great setup for dry conditions in NE PA last summer, only sad-face was I only got about 230 miles of trail out of the Ikon before the knobs were shot. Ardent lasted about 500 miles or so.
But then, I'm no lightweight, and my bike...
At the risk of trying to be helpful, one thing i have noticed is how sensitive the outboard bearings are to both BB facing and lateral preload ... the latter is so very easy to get ... simply and slightly over tightening when putting the cranks in can do it.
If you take excess fluid out of the system at the lever you don't risk putting air into the caliper. I know that this works for Marta/Julie/Louise but I've never worked with Gustav so they may be different.
ain't so much about the juice in the hose as the padz n rotors n setup on the bike i'm guessing. don't use big S hardware though so don't know first hand.
fwiw, when I switched to flats for DH (15+ years clipless for xc/am...eek!) it took a while to get comfy. I can say with confidence though that my shoe/pedal interface is NOT what holds me back these days. I'm pretty comfy hitting the doubles (not the noes that throw you UP hugely though like on...
Anderson Machine of Austin TX makes 40t rings for outer, with pins and ramps and all. Works best with their 30t middles. Seems to want a bit of mostly-harmless crankset tweaking for best compatability though.

Better that than driving two hours (+) to Diablo and having the lifts closed early. At least in this case though there was a reason shared ( high winds ). I wonder what happened?
Bummer 4 U though.
If you're looking for a replacement and don't need pedal-platform so much, the Marz Roco TST and WC Air shocks have huge air cans. I had a demo of a fox dhx air 5 on my bike and it required like 270 psi to get 30% sag ( 2.95:1 ratio, 230# rider at the time ). The Roco TST Air only needed 165-170...
i've only a rear rim setup with a 721, but with a couple layers of velox and the Stan's XM321/Rhyno-Lite strip it aired up no problem and has been running that way since. First tire on it was a WTB 2.5 wierwolf, then a 2.3 stout, currently running an Intens 909 2.5". All hold air fine. For...
