+1. That is EXACTLY what happened to me years ago (resulting in a year of physical therapy, internal bleeding in my leg, needle drainage of said blood on multiple occasions, yadda, yadda, yadda...); only "my" driver was a middle aged woman who did the same thing - and then admitted right in...
Looking for a Duo teammate to do this race with me. I've been off the bike for a little while over the winter due to injury and working on recovery, so am not quite prepared yet (or willing) to do it solo this time around. However, I love this event and really want to do it again this year...
You GO Girl! That's the spirit! Folks who approach these things as misery and suffering have already pre-loaded themselves with negativity and are missing the Joy-Boat. You, however, are headed for success and have a Winner's attitude. I would wish you the best, but I can see you've already...
Hey thanks everybody!!! I had no idea y'all even remembered me since I've been away for so long (but I think it's great that ya did!)!!! :dancing:
Seasons' Greetings to you all!

Thanks Profro! (I've really only had one guy actually say the flash bothered him and that was a few years ago). For me personally, I LOVE seeing a flash when I'm racing cuz that usually means not only did somebody get a picture of me (yeah, I'm a ham), but also probably a good bright one. ;)

Hey Mike - We're hoping to get the gallery up by this evening, so all the pictures will be there. I know I got at least one of you, but I believe I got you on both runs.
BTW, most folks aren't bothered by the flash - but there are occasions where it's a difficult choice for me when I want to...
I got around 100 shots - Psycle-On should have them up in his gallery sometime tomorrow. But here are a couple of previews of P-O in the rock garden, after the race, and brandishing his "special southern prize for having the fastest time of the Triangle area riders". :p
This is really sad news. During one of my rest breaks, I heard that someone was seriously injured. I'm so sorry to learn that the news was true. I have sent Kathy an e-mail, and will be keeping her and Meredith both in my thoughts. Please keep us updated on his condition.

Hey Ridetoofast! Good to finally meet you! Please tell me I'm not the only person who thinks that is one brutal singlespeed course (especially for 6 hours)!
My hair and eyelids even hurt today!!!
CONGRATULATIONS on the NORBA Nationals Series!!! You da man, baby!
See you in a couple of weeks at Snowshoe. :thumb:
P.S. I see congrats are in order for Stoneysnake as well - good job boys!
Hi Rhino,
Yes, Jill is correct. I had to have Zakisha put down due to a broken leg (this after enduring two colic surgeries, plus multiple surgeries to try and save the leg, all within a single terrible year). I did in fact keep a lock of her mane which I attached to her stall nameplate, so...
Hi Ladies,
I've decided that downhill/freeride is just not for me, so my 2003 Bullit frame is looking for a new good home. If anyone is interested, it is a 2003 red size small Bullit frame (7" Fifth Element rear shock) with a 2001 Marzocchi Jr. T (7"), a Thomson seatpost, and FSA Sky Pilot...
Hey James and Andrew! It was really nice meeting you guys as well. And thanks for all the photography advice Andrew - I'm hoping to get plenty of practice in now that I'm done racing, so hopefully I'll be able to get some really worthwhile shots next season. :thumb:
Please note, too, that the full size high resolution pictures can be color corrected (and lightened where I tried shooting without the flash  ), so will look much nicer than the reduced, uncorrected pictures on the gallery link. ;)
