On a kind-of-related-but-not-really note, did anyone glance at that "How Long Should Your Bike Last?" article? When I saw that, according to MBA(F), I should replace my ti frame every 4 or 5 years I just laughed and threw it back on the newstand.
Is there any way maybe that dh article is a...
Thanks for the input.
What do you mean by "risky"? I've been the sole owner, it's been rebuilt a couple of times, and is in pretty good shape considering it's age.
I have a 2007 Stab that I plan on upgrading the suspension for this year. I currently have a 2003 Boxxer Race. It looks like Avalanche offers their cartridge upgrade for forks from that era.
My questions are:
-Will this upgrade drastically improve the action of my current fork?
-Would I...

Who is that guy?
Back in the late '90's I heard a rumor of some guy racing the NORBA dh series on a rigid bike and wearing Hawaiian shirts. Never saw him or saw a picture but this reminded me of that story.
When I think too much about my gear I see pics like this and it puts it all back...
That guy seems to have the worst luck...huge crash at Millville that ravaged his back (and that he recovered from), paralysis from a supermoto crash, and his wife having cancer (I think)...now his house burns down???
The guy deserves a break.
If you do find one on Ebay or the like make sure you are getting the 2005 one...they changed the bolt pattern slightly on the 2006's when they came spec'd with the Fox DHX Air and they will not be interchangable with the 2005 frame.
That sounds like it's worth a try. Nothing to lose, really. Eventually, though, I think the best bet would be to send it in to TF like you said.
Enjoy the bike. For all the improvements on the Enduro over the years I still enjoy my 2005.
I thought it was the opposite...that you were limited to using the slack shuttle if you were putting that shock on.
What size frame do you have? I think there were clearance issues on Mediums and smaller.
I have a large '05 frame with a 8.75 x 2.75 DHX with the slack shuttle and have...
Actually, yes, I am leaning more and more towards some sort of national plan, perhaps combined with some sort of traditional private option. As with everything there are drawbacks, however. And to afford something like this I realize that the traditional American standard of living that we...
I hear you and I'll go a step further...I wish our society was set up so we could all carry the load for those who are less fortunate when this stuff happens without having to resort to lawsuits. Because it does happen, and it will continue to happen.
This is more often the case than the commonly perceived notion that the injured party is just out to get a free ride.
The way our health care and insurance system is currently set up this is often the only recourse that a catastrophically injured person has to fall back on. I don't know the...
