What's up there, Johnny Internets! I got another swim done this morning and I think they jacked the chemicals up in the pool because my lungs are feeling it now more than usual. Ahhh, sweet lung poison.

This is going to be one shitty weather weekend.

Mornin!

Parents surprised me by coming down yesterday to celebrate my birthday, which was the first time we've done so in 7 years. What was supposed to be just lunch turned into an afternoon and evening, so much for work. No regrats.

Working AM only... but working this weekend.

On the upside, tonight is food trucks, which congregate outside our house since some of the other neighbors are pissy about trucks parking in "their" (not theirs) spots on the public street. Makes for an easy pickup!

One of the trucks is Yuan Wonton, which has an insane following. They sold out from their preorders in less than half an hour yesterday. We got our orders in in time, and it shall be delicious.

Got a nice walk done this morning before it feels like a sauna.
Not inclined to ride whatsoever.
Tomorrow is suppose to be rainy. Can't wait!

My own world inside my head
Entire right side is painful.....

Right knee just feels overworked, hip is bruised, rubs bruised, shoulder bruised, hopefully elbow is just bruised and not fractured/ligament damage.....

Somehow mis stepped hiking yesterday and ended up falling off a ledge/embankment/small cliff... whatever the cool kids call it these days.... remembered to tuck and roll, however I didnt actually roll, pretty much flat landed into my riggt chest and shoulder about six feet down.

If the elbow doesnt start to get better by monday itll be a doctor visit.

when you go out scouting/hunting, do you ever use a SPOT or some emergency location thing?

I do, however yesterdays hikes were fairly easy and heavily trafficked trails. Had the 5.5 year old with me,

The part that sucks, there was no reason I should have tripped..... just happened. Good reminder for me that something can happen at anytime.

I dont think I was sitting ten minutes before two other groups came by. When I am out hunting/real scouting..... i end up solo a lotand off trail. The SPOT goes with me on those days foe sure

My espresso is in a can :(
Speaking of coffee. It’s priced so high, it might be worth it.
there's a coffee mkaer thread in the food forum, which also includes espresso machines & grinders.

for how much i like espresso my own machine was definitely a worthwhile investment. i definitely drink it more often now that i can make good quality at home.

Here. Sore. Tired. Did an 8 mile ride with Haley last night. She's lost a bit of nerve since she properly ate shit on our last ride and wanted to walk a few steeper sections. After we dropped her seat she got back a bit of nerve. I might just get her a cheap dropper to see if that helps keep her progressing without having to regularly stop to adjust her saddle height. I was ruined as this was my first ride on probably 8 months since I blew up my shoulder. Riding on keto (but stricter) is really hard because fueling is hard to keep up. Also the Nukeproof is really hard to ride slow, both up and downhill.

@Nick she wanted to do a ride with you in Golden sometime next week. We can do weekday preferably.

Wifey wants to paint her office shelves white now (vs raw oak). We got the estimate this am for yesterday's contractor meeting. $2700 for whole process with materials. I did a quick cost total on materials and it's $250. I'm going to go ahead and setup the drying racks again and do the painting. She knows the timeline will be 2-3 weeks and is okay with it to save $2k. Still need to get drywall and electrical finished in the family room.

Signing up for solar today. Running it on the amortization schedule with our mtge and taking the offset is more beneficial than taking the lump and paying directly into the mtge (wtf math?!).

Also just found out that a retirement seminar I'm teaching in 2 weeks already has over 100 people signed up and it was only announced to the employees yesterday evening. I also saw the CEO's name on the list. This should be a biggie.
