In hell. Welcome!
This morning is like last night's ride - cold, dark and cold. Forecast says no rain with a lot of crazy. Sounds like a good setup for another wild ride tonite. ⚤

Now THAT,is a set of wingdings! All the better to kick of my friday.

All of that recent vacation has renewed my interest in finding another job. Spent last night filling out application to the brand new wind farm not far from here. I've also heard that the 50 year old ///M dealer that's just moved into a new facility is hiring. Never really wanted to work on cars, but that could be interesting.

Good morning. You guys are pretty darn terrific I must say.

2300 yard swim last night, real easy 4 mile run before sunrise this morning. 31 degrees...beautiful. I've got another 6 mile run to do tonight. That one will be a hard effort.

Hey, I'm down for some shards. I've got a bunch of transformers recovered from enterprise UPSs, that's at least $100 in copper right there.

Funny thing is, ordering coffee beans is cheaper in the long run. Wish I had bought a grinder years ago.

I feel it is safe to say, with a great degree of certainty, that one way or another, this is my last aviation gig. This whole industry is fucked, and I've had quite enough of it, thank you very much.
You do realize that everything is fucked everywhere? I can say from if experience that if you want to avoid fuckage avoid, pharmaceuticals, automotive, heavy industrial, light industrial, software, test industry, printing industry, capitol equipment, robotics and food processing.

Sad and true. Too much debt everywhere, it can never be paid. The first whispers of negative interest rates in the US are floating around, which is the politicians and central bankers Hail Mary attempt to save their system. But to make that work, they''ll have to ban cash. I don't think that will fly here.

I'm off to a physio appointment. I subluxated my cuboid a few (maybe 5?) years ago, and it's been giving me grief again this past summer. Foot aches when I wake up, and bend it certain ways. I'm hoping to get a cute young physio who will massage my foot for an hour.... :brows:

While quite possibly true, I may just have to experience this myself to be sure.

I'd be keen on negative interest rates, northern Europe-style. My student loan debt and car notes are fixed rates, as will be my mortgage on the new house, but I'm planning on refinancing my wife's student loans (and officially assuming responsibility for it as co-signer) at a variable rate.

All my friends in Denmark has crazy low home mortgages as in less than 1%. I would love to have some of the same and bump my 2.5% down even lower.

Cold morning ride it took a little out of my. Gotta get some more gear on next time. Rather sweat than freeze.

BMW mechanics are different than ///M-specialists. Also, they require you to have your own mechanics chest and iirc, specific BMW mechanic's training. You will however probably enjoy it a lot more. One thing to be concerned about is that most mechanics get paid per job, not hourly.

Cars will always need to be fixed. I'd be more keen on that vs. sales or manufacturing.

And there is a large supply of young dudes who want to work on cars so the pay is garbage for what is a skilled profession considering the complexity of modern cars.

Find a big enough municipality with a public transportation system tied to local political elite that needs skilled mechanics (because their stuff breaks down all the time). Chances are, they spend all their money on overblown salaries and pensions, like they do here in Boston. Those are truly dream jobs if you can get in!

I bet a mechanics get paid well at some Northern Midwest Canadian oil fields.

I bet the prostitutes get paid more.

One of the ominous signs that the markets are about to crash as hard or harder than in 2008, soon? :tinfoil:
That'd be fantastic for me, as I put a fixed dollar amount each month into my retirement accounts. A few years of buying at a large discount would go a long way to letting me retire early/earlier than planned.

Not right now I don't think. They're bleeding jobs over there with the price of oil being below the cost of production.
Yeah. Not sure about your area, but my town is flooded with cars and trucks with plates from Alberta. All those people are coming back.

It blows. Every pickup truck with Alberta plates wants to race.

I'm sitting on ~20% cash just waiting for an opportunity.
