Just a little bit of pressure on Thursday. Also, the Ghana vs Portugal game will be happening at the same time. Wish I wasn't working and could watch both game at the same time.
Great show by Uruguay last night to beat Italy...but Luis Suarez, dude, wtf? It blows my mind when professionals on the biggest stage of their careers do stuff like this.
What's the price on 0-0 for Germany vs USA, pretty short I'd reckon?
If we had a collective team ego, and a bit of national pride involved in this game, I woudl say we were in it to win it. But die Mannschaft will come out firing, they are sore about the Ghana draw, and feel like they need to prove a point...looking forward to it either way.

i scheduled the delivery of a chest freezer today. i lucked out and the delivery window is 1-5pm, so i will be at home

So glad that the US made it out of the "group of death". The game today wasn't pretty but a 1-0 loss against Germany isn't too bad of an outcome as long as we still moved on.

I dunno - I started watching these games with my 20 year old daughter and for the first time ever, I'm really enjoying soccer. I don't understand some of the rules and some of the drama is exaggerated but overall, I'm enjoying the W/C very much.

Chile was brilliant v. Brazil...I have always despised Alves & Co...talk about a bunch of entitled jerks who think they should just be handed the trophy...although with a guy named Fred and a guy named Hulk, can they be all that bad? Great game, and I agree, deciding on 11 meter shots is crap.

Damn, the Netherlands / Mexico game was amazing today, although my happiness at The Netherlands getting through was tempered somewhat by a pretty obvious dive in the ~93rd minute that gave them a penalty kick (and game-winning goal).

Well then there were other examples where I should have had one. This is how soccer has always been.
One guy on each team should get a sword. He gets to finish anyone one the other team who doesn't stop flopping before he gets there.
Players in every contact sport always embellishing to try to get calls. At this, the highest stage for international soccer, I am not surprised. Disappointed, yes. Surprised, no. Just play the game.

being half french, I'm quite pleased with the outcome of today's game! though being married to a Chilean, I can't but still feel a little dead inside... though they played well and with honour, it still sucks.
