Note to mods: Y'all can move this to Ride Reports if you want, but there isn't much "ride reporting" in it.

It was a great trip despite the meager turnout. It was good to meet Loco and Wumpus. I didn't know that Jesse and RJ were Geminisnickets and Lankyride. I also matched up the name Sherpa to the face that belonged to it (I had met him at previous races I think).

A couple of pics ...

The car loaded and ready to go (unfortunately, we were rained out of kayaking).

Geminisnicket, Lankyride and DNA. LR has a great pic of GS after he eat dirt on the road gap (the condition of that red t-shirt is considerably different).

Loco giving his best Bikerfox pose

Just a few random comments ...

• Noted bailers - Cooter and N8 :eviltongu

• Sherpa's Morewood is one of the sexiest bikes that I have ever seen
suggested custom title for Sherpa: Pretty, pretty bike

• Geminisnickets is tough as hell. After his Bender whip, he managed to drive the shuttle truck a little before going to the ER.
suggested custom title for Geminisnickets: I can shuttle with half an arm

• AtTheGates proved that the 2wd Ford Ranger is one of the most underated vehicles of ALL TIME. It easily shuttled 6 people and bikes up and Down Hwy 220 (although it wasn't the same without a dirty, wet Lab leaning over you trying to hang its head over the side of the truck).
suggested custom title for AtTheGates: Power Ranger

• Loco is pretty useful when you need to take car of a raccoon on a commando raid
suggested custom title for Loco: Raccoons fear me!

• Wumpus rides the biggest Banshee that I have ever seen.
suggested custom title for Wumpus: Mr. Mom

• DNA was not afraid of hitting that rock drop. He just wanted to save it for the next trip to Devil's Den. (I know that it is the same size as other drops on the trail. I know it has a perfect landing. Shutup. I'll get it next time. :mumble:).
suggested custom title for DNA: That rock doesn't own me

• I got nothing for Lankyride. He is a good guy who didn't do or say anything stupid. I feel like I let him down.

• The talky, know-it-all, old lady was wrong about a Chadwick race this year. I stopped in Springfield Bike on the way home and talked to Scott. He said he isn't running a race this year, but someone else could if they want to.

That's it for now from me. Loco should have more pics.

Hey DNA,

Hated to miss it... but it couldn't be helped.

I'll be up at Mena for the Earthquake Ridge race on the 18th though...

We rolled home down 71 through Mena. I am not sure I can ever drive that highway again. :dead: Geebus it took forever.

Will's Morewood is dead sexy. I wondered what Aaron posted as. The ranger did rock it. LR could be "smile for the camera". He just had a giant smile when he told GS he'd think he was a prick for taking pics, but would thank him later. :D Mad props to Steve who rocked the P1 SS all weekend. That trip was so badass, I don't know if the park could have handled anymore cool monkeys. The prostate checker saddle was the worst idea ever.

Fuggin' raccoons. :mumble:

This was by far the best trip I've had down to DD. Argh Kansas is the probably the craziest place I've ever been. Camping and riding were great. Good to meet new people and have a great time. Loco's fireside antics and stories are umatched. I have never seen someone chase a racoon with such gusto.
The trails were in really good shape. When we arrived on friday I thought the bottom of th trail was going to be sloppy, however, true to Sherpa's predictions, it was prime. Unfortunatly I did not ride any of the trail gaps. I haven't hit either one since september and both are in much different condition than they were at that time. Jesse crashing did nothing for my desire to hit them.
Beware of the wild life! Batman especially there is something wrong with that guy. Leaving the park Steve and I saw some kind of monster condor/vulture next to the road a mile later we saw a fox.
Last time I was down that way I saw a road runner.

I think if we were to race, it would be a tie based solely on our body shape/figure.

I am fast like thunder bro. I just look like a pear. I rock flames when I ride.

*edit - I started with Will, RJ, and Aaron and they dropped me by the second turn. Burn.

I'd rather be young and have limited (like you would know my life experiences) life experiences than be OLD and a Douche Bag.

It took a Dremel and a hammer to get that seat off of the seatpost.

Oh yeah, I meant to add that I want a full-suspensino downhill bike.

I say that everytime I go to DD.

The Finance Committee has authorized me to spend as much as $5.

Can you help a monkey out?

I think this thread sets a new record for fewest pics from a monkey gathering.
I have like 6 or 8 to post tonight. They suck though. I don't know how people take pics. I had way too much fun riding and hangin' out to snap many shots. I was trying to get Aaron on drops and jumps and would prestage the camera, but I was slow with the shutter and he would land before I got the shot. He was pretty damned fast. Take our word for it. It rocked.

*We set a record for fewest monkeys at a gathering too. It was still quality. Very cool peeps.

I take the blame for that. I let my wife take the camera on her hikes and when I had the camera, I forgot. :o:

I'm not sure if there is even a shot of Wumpus.

On the positive side, we did put over 150 miles on the Power Ranger in 2.5 mile segments. :thumb:

I have one. It's funny you said "mr mom" since he looks to be with child in the shot.

That is since I went with Mr. Mom after I found out that he is the stay-at-home parent for his kids.

Looks like a good time was had by all...er sounds like it anyway. (more pics!)

I wanted to come but La didn't want to be around Loco due to the fear that she would have to bitch slap him & that changed my mind due to the fear of him probably enjoying it... ;)
