But when will we see the M9 available for the public?Brendan did it again, eluded to the fact that he is gonna win. Hope it happens this time...even though I would love to see one of my M9FRO's take a win.
That video the parkins did was so ridiculously cool, must see TV thats for sure.
yeah, there is no need for a fender on the new turner dhr, mud totally isnt an issue when racing.
Depends on the circumstances I'd say. DQed for cutting a switchback and not pushing back up? Should be covered. DQed for smoking a spliff half way down the track? Probably not coveredDoubtful.
Good point. I didn't think of that.Bryceland: currently 19th in UCI rankings, but 30th in World Cup rankings. Will he be protected? I assume so as they can't go off of the World Cup rankings for the first race of the year, so the "top 20" thing must refer to the rolling UCI ranking? Aye?
Surely there is a panel in place that can make a "human" ruling and allow bending of a rule if this is the case. If a rider physically cant rejoin the trail where he went off, then you cant penalize them for not doing so.Seems that he fell off on the last steep section, went out of the tapes then rejoined lower down. From what we gather the track was too steep for him to climb back up to rejoin where he left. He reckons he lost 10 seconds in the crash.
Nope, you often end up with 81/82 riders racing finals for this reason. Also, along the same lines, if someone qualifies say 78th, but 2 top 20 protected riders make it, do they bump out said rider from the finals????
i'm hoping so as well - IF they determine he is officially DQ'd though i think that's it for him, no finals.Surely there is a panel in place that can make a "human" ruling and allow bending of a rule if this is the case. Go Gwin! I hope he makes it in...
he had a 4:31i'm hoping so as well - IF they determine he is officially DQ'd though i think that's it for him, no finals.
anyone know what his time was?
Good point, I am pretty sure Rennie did something similar a little while back as well?Gwin left the start gate... as soon as that happens a protected rider is into the finals. all you need to do is show up and start the clock like Sam Hill did at Ft. William.
If Gwin had walked down if would have been called a DNF, but since he rode and posted a time they give a DSQ. More a way of classifying riders than anything else, can't see how this would keep him out of finals.
I agree. Unless he was disqualified for something more heinous, which doesn't appear to have been the case. Lucky for Cathro that Aaron got DQed!Gwin left the start gate... as soon as that happens a protected rider is into the finals. all you need to do is show up and start the clock like Sam Hill did at Ft. The first 10 women and first 20 men on the current world cup individual general classification, or
the final general classification for the preceding year in the case of the first event, must ride the
qualifying round but shall qualify automatically for the final in any event. If the times of the riders
in question are not among the 20 best times for women or the 80 best times for men, they
shall ride the final in addition to the 20 women and 80 men already qualified.
but gwin is not registered with an actual time on the results. The rules state:
Gwin should be in.
With that said does this not have an effect on the points race? I'm sure with his time, he didn't have much to grab, but I'd imagine for the riders that aren't running away from the rest of the field, points are tight and any little bit will help in the overall. Seems pretty sucky to be losing out on points when "technically" he didn't gain anything by crashing and in fact lost time. The rules state:
Gwin should be in.
I suppose it's up the the commassaire in question to decide on the meaning of "in any event". My experience is that as long as you break the start beam you're in. We'll see.but gwin is not registered with an actual time on the results.
i hope so for gwin (and our viewing pleasure!).I suppose it's up the the commassaire in question to decide on the meaning of "in any event". My experience is that as long as you break the start beam you're in. We'll see.
US kid who probably is going to win world juniors if he gets back to form after breaking his arm.Forgive my ignorance but who is this Neko chap, and why is everyone harking on about him?
