The advanced jump line is closed until Friday. I worked on lips of the jumps today and used a dirt/concrete mix that will take a few days to dry.

We could camp out at the bottom of the trail and slap their wrist as they ride by.You could also taze them.
Yup, i'm with you. Evergreen is holding 2 types of product samples on these, so these will be tested too.Isn't there a soil hardener the military uses ot has used for roads and airfields? I would think that could be ideal for this
Not me. I want to ruin it for everyone.most all people want to do the right thing..
Not to underestimate them, but I doubt Evergreen has a military-type budget.Isn't there a soil hardener the military uses ot has used for roads and airfields? I would think that could be ideal for this
If they get this next grant they'll have more than the Canadian Military...Not to underestimate them, but I doubt Evergreen has a military-type budget.
Hey what ever makes feel good about yourself.yall = y'all
Just keeping the posts consistent..
WOW, good thing there were some pictures in Kim's post .... Just reads funny that is all I'm sayingnice lips kim
Me and the pump track guys are looking to try out the soil hardener on the pump track. But things can change. The important thing is to get someone to learn how to apply it right, block it off so it can set up, and see how it goes. You're supposed to mix it with water, jizz it on the dirt, or mix it into the dirt and pack it down, and stay off of it for 3 days, and it's supposed to turn the dirt to concrete.Ask Mike about the soil stabilizer, he said someone there was experamenting with it, the pump track guys maybe....
Yep -- we've got enough SoilTac to cover 1,000 sq.ft. and we're looking for a place to experiment on. It costs ~$20 per 100 sq.ft for the goop. The cost really lies in all the prep work and complexity involved in applying it. I'm scouting around looking for volunteers who want to lead an experiment... it'll take a big chunk o' time. Maybe half on the pump track (the dry/covered side) and half on some jumps or landings (better for areas under the freeway deck).Isn't there a soil hardener the military uses ot has used for roads and airfields? We'll get the most out of the soil stabilizer if we use it under the canopy where it's dry. Because the hip landing is exposed, we should be able to harden that up with better dirt and some crushed rock with fines. I don't know what the deal is with that dirt... really slimy, but doesn't seem like clay. (decades of hobo doodoo perhaps?) Try moving a bunch of the really sandy stuff from the pile at the bottom and mixing that in with the slime. Then as soon as we get this grant (keep your fingers crossed), there's $$ in there for soil hardening... we'll buy some 5/8- crushed to mix in. Then, mixing in the remainder of the Portland cement definitely won't hurt.Yeah please keep me informed. The landing for the hip is getting chewed up and would like to fix it and a few other lips on that section of trail.
Most definitely. But because it's so steep and exposed to rain, I don't know if the soil stabilizer will work. We'd need to really compact the landing and let it harden first... then we can apply Soiltac and it may take.the landing for the "Drop-Zone" is going to need something along those lines.
Carpets don't work very well if you ask me. They get all warped after getting wet and hurt like hell when you skid on them. Might work to limit damage until a better solution can be had, though. Most definitely. But because it's so steep and exposed to rain, I don't know if the soil stabilizer will work. What do y'all think of a big-ass carpet? Sounds cheezy, but I'm starting to see 'em pup up in BC.

It would look a bit getto but I don't think people who are not riding the park even make it over to that area. It would be a short term fix. I think by next summer that landing will be soild, it wasnt built very long ago and never got the chance to firm/dry up. I think its in pretty good shape considering its totaly exposed.I think besides the smell issue that will come up carpet could create the sort of bum like dirty appearance that the city and local residence wanted to get ride of before the bike park.
Im not usually one to say dont make the jump bigger but.... I kinda agree. I went into it with the same speed i normally did before you guys made changes to it and my front tire hit the flat after the landing. Of course this is just my opinion but i think the landing is all that needs work. The takeoff feels excellent. Easy to get good air at moderate speeds and clear the thing.I dont know if it needs to be much bigger. If I get to much speed and pump at the base of the bridge I will land with the front end flat bottom and that is not fun.
I feel it is the best it has been as far as the lips go.
