Well that sucks...I made my decision solely on aesthetics! The difference in stiffness is marginal; it's really an issue of which style is best for the joining method.
Steve
Thanks for the scoop on the HammerSchmidtThe HammerSchmidt setup runs on either a 22t or 24t chainring and once the overdrive setup is engaged, it multiplies the base gear by ~1.6 which gives an equivalent 36t if youre running a 22t or a 38t if youre running a 24t. So youve got the option to have either a 22t/36t setup or a 24t/38t setup.
Wicked cool is right

Must be the angle as they are nearly the same height. I haven't ridden it with the Reba yet....later today.Looks a lot taller in front with the Reba on it -
Was it a major improvement?
I am currently waiting on delivery of a new rear der. to setup a 2x5/6. Yes, the bike was designed with the option to run gears in mind...complete with cable guides & the extra paragon dropout w/ der. hanger.Could you run this bike with rear gears?
Anymore comparisons on the slack HTA and shorter CS to other more XC styled 29ers? There are only a handful of bikes with that type of geometry, one that I'm looking at, and I'm hoping to avoid the twitchy, anti-slack, race oriented variety of most 29ers.
The builder is a member of this site - byStickel - you can send him a note via Private Message to find out.Any idea what a frame like this might cost down the road?
Oops...missed this post, sorry Mark. The 'Schtickel is still the King!! I love this bike! I have it back as a 2 speed and prefer the cs length at the current ~17" length. How's the HammerStickel been treating you J?
I'm sure Steve would be happy to oblige since it is how he makes his livingWould you be interested in making a second frame if the $$ was right?
No, actually the 69* HTA is measured at sag and the Reba is the newest model with 46 mm of offset.can i clarify: you went with a 69 deghree head and a 38mm offset reba? and the head angle is non compressed? and liking the ride? any thoughts on slacker angle and more offset?
(im working on somehting similar but with the bigger offset...)
I did very NOT hate to see it go, b!tch!Tho I hated to see it go, I had to make room for the next project
Image 1 looks to be a long travel/dare I say even DH oriented HT
This bike proved to be super versatile & an overall fantastic EC woods bike.
Tho I hated to see it go, I had to make room for the next project
...to be continued
Still waiting on the front. Larry is building it up with a Chub hub (135mm SS). Front tri is welded...I'll fire up a new thread when I have some more pics to shareIndustry Nines to boot - mighty nice.
