Best lobster I've ever had was a 5 pounder that we picked up on the cape (Cape Cod) for cheap because it was during a 1-2 pounder shortage (1-2 pounders were like $12/lb that season ('05 I think...)...right out on the docks...5 pounders were $7/lb... Then we cooked it in a stock pot the size of Wisconsin.
A 5lb lobster has been around the block a few times and won't go down without a fight...We dumped the first one into the pot and he jumped out (we put the second one in the freezer for about an hour...it worked a bit better). He'd been in the fridge for 4 hours and he jumped out of the pot. Broke a leg off and started moving for the couch. We got him back in the pot and, once done, was awesome. Perfect consistency, perfect taste...it was awesome. Even better than the 1-2 pounders the previous year.
