Because of you people I just came home from downtown Denver with a brand new pair of Tenet Occults.
When I was riding at Curt Gowdy this weekend I noticed a wee bit of play in my left Xpedo Spry. It *sorta* looks like I may be able to service them, but TBH they're not particularly great pedals, and the shitty pins are pretty annoying.
These are pretty much identical to Nukeproof Electrons, Cube, etc. HT-produced plastic pedals. Buy whichever you get cheapest.
See, clipless pedals are waaaay less dangerous. Less selection, no chance for impulse buys.GODDAMMIT.

So basically I was forced into buying the Tenets.
Keep on eye on the seals - if they pop out you might have the start of that bushing issue I mentioned earlier. If not and you got a good set then they're mint and will last years. Mine have been brutally dragged across rocks all over the world and are still going strong, if a little squeaky and needy these days.
The only time I checked for the "right" pins, the were, of course, out of stock. And I've mauled a bunch of the pins (tore them out) and it buggered the threads so badly I couldn't put replacements in. So right now I have a pair of pedals missing a bunch of shit-shape pins with one sloppy axle. Into the "backup" bin they go.

Thanks for mentioning that. Will do. Worst case scenario will order that service kit from DMR. I forgot about tthem being a choice before I saw that vital piece and I like that shape of pedals

I recommend adding blue threadlocker to the pins before you ride the Vaults, to avoid loosing some of them.

Getting to WCs 20 years ago was super easy. Now just getting the points is a friggen expensive and super difficult exercise. Not that its a bad thing really - it is supposed to be the pinnacle of the sport, there should be obstacles to prevent mid-pack Expert riders cluttering the course for the pros.
