I was wondering how they were gonna get through those super slow turns before the container drop. Absolutely wild to see the speed differences vs a few days ago!

Also, the trust that those guys put in those blown out “berms” gives me butterflies and the jitters just watching. NFW.

The course took out a fair few riders this year. All big crashes. The speed they were carrying doesnt show until you see the wrecks.

I'd be dead from the initial impact and still dead now a couple of days later with more continuing dead to come.

I was riding at Maydena today. The track was blown to pieces loose as bomb hole dusty. And fucking huge and way steeper than you even think it is. AND that wombat gap was mental, small little gap into a bomb hole vert descent. The jumps at the bottom are the easy stuff!
Nothing easy on that track. Cant believe how fast the top racers where on that track…level up x3 over World Cup tracks.

Every year the Hardline crashes seem to rule out some WC contenders. I bet the sponsors for some riders either start saying nope more or tell the riders to pitch up and practice for media exposure but don't race or whatever.

It really is for the elite of the elite. I think some new competitors thought last year it looked easier than it is.
Anyway Sam Hill racing it and putting a good time down was my highlight.

I'd be really interested in hearing his thoughts on Hardline. It's not like 100ft doubles were ever part of his phenomenal mtb career. And at 39 I'm guessing he and Gee were the oldest guys there.

What really made me think about how much has changed since their glory days was how Kerr, Jones, Dunne etc were constantly on camera, playing the media game.

If it wasn’t for the results sheet I wouldn’t have known Hill or Bryceland were there.

Bryceland looked as if his bike was one or two sizes too small...
Nice to see him and other old timmers like Sam and Gee on solid runs! It gives me hope for the future :sarcastic:

With all the old school guys there, surely they could tack on a 26” DH race the following weekend. Would be sick.

I guess it depends on how confident the rider is, maybe?

I mean Jackson destroyed his season last year because of this race and given that Steve Pete and co were they with him, doesn't sound like they said no?

I know Ronin said in a podcast that he specifically has in his contract that he can race whatever he wants outside of Word Cups. I'm willing to bet he's not the only one.

As an Asa fanboy, I would love to see what would have happened if he didn't get shook up off that first drop. The kid is amazing. He is the youngest to ever compete in Hardline, had the fastest time through the middle and lost by .23 seconds with third being 2.3 seconds off.

Or did he?
