Yep, its the fullface nothing else. They just feel like since they can't see our face they can be dicks or something.

I'm going to try that this weekend. As long as my shoulder is healed up I'm going to be going back into training mode and riding XC 5 days a week. Gonna do a ride with my fullface going down and see how they react.

yeah, full face helmets and visible body armour (legs, elbows..) makes them think they met some kind of storm troopers rather then cyclists...

the misunderstanding regarding DH runs really deep. if the XC-psychos in my cycling club don't see us DH-ers as cyclists, how should hikers?
