Some people will understand this and other just won't grasp the concept. I have been riding these bikes for the past three years, and the progression is unbelievable. I have been testing different skis and fine tuning bike geo and these bikes can take what ever you through at them. Bar spins, suicide no handers, tuck no handers, and superman seat grabs are only a few of the tricks we have been dialing in this season in Durango. My buddy and I will be releasing a vid at the end of the season to really show what's possible on these things. All we have right now is raw video footage. So I am going to hold off of the riding pics mainly because we only have video and don't want to put small bits up. I encourage anybody interested in these types of bikes to check out www.lenzsport.com and stay tuned for our video at the end of the season for now just check out these machines. Pics are kind of ****y from are hotel at Winter X hopefully snow bike cross for Winter X 2014, let's get the interest going. cheers

This first bike is my new Launch it is intended for slope style but is awesome for shredding the whole mtn. This bike has 6 inches of travel front and rear and is really playful feeling this bike kills it in the park

I am more than happy snowboarding down a mountain in the winter and riding my bike in the summer.

Hope you are ready for the barrage of comments about paying for advertising, etc.

The second bike is my Alpine Brawler this bike is more of the full on dh bike, I generally use this bike for powder days and more backcountry stuff. It has 8 inches up front and is adjustable from 6 to 7 inches. I have a set of kids snowboards for the really deep days and the moto seat allows you to shift your weight for aggressive riding.

The thing is these bikes have a lot of potential and it would be great to see more people give it a chance, I am not saying every companie needs to make one it would be good to see more interest

But they are in no way interesting. Most mountains don't allow them and they are good for green trails and small parks.

I just don't see the point of them at all, and I have an open mind about new ideas and advancements in the biking community.

You would have a lot more credibility if your posts were correctly spelt and punctuated.

Just sayin'.

I never said it was better than snowboarding for me it is. you would be surprised what you can do, I have hit bigger jumps on this than I have in ten years on a snowboard. And I have thrown more tricks on this thing than my bmx or mtb it's just fun. They are surprisingly efficient and under a good rider can out ride a lot of snowboarders and skiers. They have way more surface area than most things on the hill

You have no idea what you are talking about we ride everything and big Mnt stuff, and small parks I don't think so we are hitting jumps bigger than most people are comfortable hitting. And the resort thing is a drag but Colorado has quite a bit of resorts that are offering them. Telluride, Winter Park, SnowMass, Keystone, DMR, A Basin. These are just a few you are entitled to your opinion but you are making judgements with out knowledge of what you are judging.

I'll be more than happy to meet up with you guys at any time and you can show me how you guys ride. I rarely ride on groomed trails on any of the mountains around here though, so it better be impressive. :D

Please work on proper spelling and punctuation to be considered a legit company spokesperson on this forum, please!

I have ridden one of these things a few times before and they sucked. In no way were they fun, and they are no good for deep back country powder or in the trees.

HAHA, well played on bringing up things that you have no idea about. Pot meet kettle. As for typing fast, same here, yet I seem to be doing just fine. It is such a horrible excuse.

I don't play nice here and my title might shed some light on that.

If I make it out to Durango this year I will definitely meet up with you guys and maybe you can prove me wrong. If you are around Breckenridge, Winter Park, Copper on a great powder day, or anywhere around there, please let me know.

Thanks for sharing.
It's nice to see snow bikes that aren't just hacked together old bikes and kid skis bolted on with 2x4s.
I should really get one. My knees can barely handle a snowboard anymore. I think most mountains allow them. I've seen lots as rentals.

I hink it looks fun. Not sure I could go faster, more places, or jump bigger than I can on skis, but I do think it looks fun, and I'd at least session it when the lifts shut down. But no brakes? Just push the arse out hey? Or throw a bucket on a rope out the back? or corner with a big cup in your hand? What about having some short skis connected to where the pedals are, that pivot, so you could put the arse of them down in the snow if you wanted to slow. Could also aid in cornering. Or you could have them on bungies at each end, so you stand in the middle, and if you want to brake, you stand at the back of them.
EDIT:-Okay, just watched the vid. Still think I'd like longer fott mounts than side by side pedals, you'd get more feel for skiing the rear I'm guessing.
Looks a bit like pushing a shopping trolley on roller skates. Does the front do much steering at all, or just act as a stabalizer, so you'r just on a suspended mono ski with a suspended walking frame out front?
I'm still keen. I think a small one would be heaps of fun.

My buddy who has been riding with me a bunch is 38 and has no ACL he is an old Bmx world champ from back in 1982. He is throwing bar spin combos and superman combos that he has never done on his bmx. The suspension really helps your body when riding all day, he will be the first to tell you that. There are days when I ride first to last chair and I can't think the last time my body could do that on skis or a board in the last ten years. The basics are really simple it's when you start riding park or steep woods that the learning curve drastically changes.

first off, ignore the e-douche. he's just that :D Second off, we're not knocking the concept (I think it's cool, and am really glad to see somebody making a real effort at a proper ski bike), just think that its too niche of a bastard child sport to grow into anything more than another niche sport in an industry that's already chock full of niche variations.

Cost is gonna be an issue too. Gonna be more expensive than a normal set of skis or snowboard setup, and from the looks of it it's not exactly a standard issue DH frame, so I'm guessing that retrofitting your race bike in the off season is out of the question.

Then again, get a hang gliding parachute like those Swiss ski gliding guys, and you may be on to something.

Video reminds me of the guy doing huge tricks on a razor scooter, impressive but beyond almost everyone that will ever try one.

With that, I had a few friends show up on their snow bikes one day, damn fast and looked like a lot of fun, but yet another thing I don't have extra money for.

Just my opinion, if it rides nothing like a bike, id rather just snowboard, i could see it being cool if it rode like a bike (and i havent ever ridden one to say it does or doesnt) but if i wanted to cross train in the winter, and it was between a scooter and a snowboard, you can take your guess

Have you seen the haters for a 29er DH bike? Good luck with this movement ;)
Yea I am not the manufacture just a friend who's been giving feed back and testing some stuff. The title of the tread was just to get peoples attention and it sure did. The bikes are being manufactured up in the Front Range of Colorado and are available through there web site. The sport just has to grow a little bit to get the cost down from what they are now.

The Bikes not scooters do ride like a bike crossed with snow sports. There are tons of stuff called ski bikes and or fall under the category. But there are very few brands that can actually be ridden well. Geary Snow Bikes, and Lenz Sport are really the only two manufactures right now making bikes. That perform well and they have limited funds to market heavily. And toboot only 90 something resorts allow them in the US right now.

Does anybody know if Tahoe allows these? Hahaha, I'd be down to try one if I could get my hands on one... I hate being strapped to 1 or 2 planks, much rather rip it up on a goofy scooter if it means having some playtime.
