Even if beer and pizza intake doubles on DH race weekends, I fully support these back to back weekends of action. If only it was this consistent throughout the summer (or every other week at least).

cura brakes on a pro bike. interesting.

I hope brosnana can podium again. I keep hoping he'll pull out of gwin's shadow and start winning in his own right. I also hope mingar can make consistency pay off. and that brendan breaks the top 20. AGAIN WOOT

Final drop in Switzerland. I hope everyone stays alive.
I always wonder what happens, like we saw in Ft Bill - when a rider slips/crashes/stops on the run in for something like that. Do they push back up to get the required speed or is there a go-around?

I bet Graeme Mudd is hoping he stays on his bike for that one.

That looks like one of the best tracks ive ever seen...
Been doing some Swiss ixs races over the years and I think what theyre doing is exactly what DH racing should be about.

I see a trip to Lenzerheide coming in the near future.
Didn't you get the memo? It is in a bike park, so not rough enough, too many berms, too many wooden features, each and every Joey can ride it, nothing that the world's best could show their skills on. You NEED to hate on it to be cool on the internetz. ;)

It's steep and fast.

Though I'm not a fan of features like that last drop for racing (and overal I'm not a fan of big drops with short landings). People will be going at mach speed so the drop will either be ok for them and kill anyone who makes even the smallest mistake or top20 will have to slow down not to kill themselves

Lenzerheide lookes properly rough between and through those berms though. I think the criticism of the lazy and uncreative trail building that is very common and basically consists of "build a bunch of berms below the lift line" is actually justified. Two weeks ago, i rode four different parks in Austria and they were all eerily similar in that most tracks were just an endless progression of berms of boredom.

Schladming was the eye opener: I had only brought along my trailduro bike so i started out riding their freeride track. After two runs, i mostly felt a) my arms hurting and b) utter boredom (and i'm not a good rider). Then my buddy insisted we ride the former world cup track and everything changed. It was such a blast, even on the small bike, that we ended up riding it until the park closed and for some reason my arm pump was gone (maybe i was just distracted by all the fun i was having). I know the bermy tracks are easier to maintain and attract more novices, but to me at least, the fun factor in more natural wood and rock sections is just exponentially higher.

Doesn't mean that other tracks don't make for exciting racing, as we saw in the much maligned Leogang. Just one note on that track: sure it has paved motorway sections, but every person that complains about the track being too easy needs to try riding those woods sections quickly - far from easy and with plenty of pants-shitting potential.
