Yeah the whole not aging thing was a little unsettling. I know the writers denied the purgatory thing but there are a lot of things that are pointing to that.

I also think that Jacob does look a lot like Locke. Good call about the technology thing. But how would there be two Locke's? I read an interview with the writers and they did nothing but avoid the subject of who plays Jacob. So possibly true??!

Such a good episode. Damn! 2 more for the season. I cant wait.

God, this show is driving me crazy. We were going to try and just Tivo the last episodes, and watch them all in a row, but we couldn't hold out, and watched last night.
WTF was pretty much our feelings. Jacob? Locke shot? Jesus...

So is Burt Reynolds, and he was the Bandit.
But you are right, Locke is gooberhead bald in real life.
But if Dolly Parton wears a wig, I am sure Locke can.
Are you saying Jacob is Burt Reynolds?

How many others have been healed since being on the island?
All of them?

Now Chen(sp?) the fisherman is fertile (was sterile) if the baby is indeed his....

I have been hit and miss on watching the episodes. *which makes it difficult to follow sometimes*
I have no idea what to think about Jacob, but Ben is seriously messed in the head :D (duh, right?) Didn't like the fact that Lock could hear Jacob.....not one bit.

The beer guy being Ben's dad....lol sweet.

He is also Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite. I spent so much time trying to figure out where the hell I knew him from.

But yeah, I'm so curious about whats going to happen in the next 2 episodes.
Did anyone else think that Uncle Rico seemed to age more than the long-haired hippy guy who helped him get a job on the island? When Ben closed his eyes, he didn't look like he'd aged as much as Ben's dad.

That's what years of drinking Dharma beer will do to you.

I suppose....the other guy looked like he didn't touch the stuff. Hippy.

But if Dharma is gone, why are there still supply drops?
Perhaps the people making the drops are on a schedule and they are not supposed to expect contact from the Dharma people on the island?

I was wondering about that too. Also, since the creepy people had contact off island post Dharma massacre and before the hatch blew up, who the hell were they talking to?

They must be really connected, having a fake (or real??) bioscience company, and all the other stuff. They have resources, that's for sure.
And is Ben the boss, or Richard? Because it seemed like Richard was the leader beforehand, what was he doing just out in the woods, all long-haired? He cleaned up a lot by the time of the purge...

So, my conclusions that I've come to thus far are that Ben really doesn't know much about the island, or at least not as much as he leads to believe. I Comcast DVR'd LOST last night, and paused it when the cabin started shaking, and sure enough... there was a figure in that chair. I thought I was maybe seeing things.

They're still yet to explain what happened to Michael and Walt (I hope that they bring them back), what was up with the polar bear(s), and what the frick' is the black smoke that killed Echo. And those are just the basics.

As far as what Darma was really doing, etc. And where did "The Others" come from? Because we now know that "The Others" were actually on the island before they become "The Others" who live in the little town.

And why is it that Saeid (sp?) could fix that radio to find the french woman, but now can't fix the Sat-phone?

WTF... more questions, and less answers...

Oh, and remember Walt and his semi-psychic abilities (with the animals...)?

The "original" Others are what's left of the Black Rock. Did you notice that Richard wasn't any younger when he found child-Ben in the jungle? And that he was wearing grimy clothes that could be called "swashbuckling" in style? They don't age on the island...

Then why did Ben age? Did he stop aging? Also, we really don't know if it's everyone, or just Richard, as we didn't really see enough of the Others to see if they're the same people...

Just as Locke could walk again after landing on the island, maybe it holds special properties for certain people. But yes - we didn't see enough of the Others to make a more solid guess. But the Black Rock is one mystery that doesn't get discussed much so the writers may try to exploit that in their story. Also, I believe at one point the Black Rock was mentioned to have been from the 18th century. Think how many strange things have happened in the months the survivors have been there - think what could happen in 300 years.

I've also heard it discussed that Locke will survive the gunshot because he could have gotten shot in the location where his kidney(?) used to be. He'll come back in the end, kill Ben, and take over that crew.

I agree that it treats certain people differently. Cured Rose's cancer, didn't stop Ben from getting it.
Also, wasn't the Black Rock the "final resting place of Magnus Hanso?" A little interesting, no? Could he be "Jacob?"

Some of that reminded me of an idea presented in a book I read not long ago. It was The Scar, by China Mieville. *Spoilers Below*

In that book one character had a sword called the Sword of Might. Only it wasn't "might" as in strength, it was "might" as in "maybe". The sword was an engine of possibility, which was capable of taking every possible outcome of a sword swing and executing each of the infinite strikes at once. The result was of course a buzzing blur of metal that would only stop when the switch of the "Possible Sword" was turned off.

BTW I'm not saying ouch because I'm a dumbass - I get the theory.

I hate white on black fonts on webpages. On and LCD screen it gives me a serious headache in the eyes after only a minute. That was a marathon of pain to read.

On my powerbook I can make the screen negative so its easier to read. Good ole Ctrl+Alt+Apple+8. =]

Those theories were pretty interesting. Man, I love this show. I just wish it was already done so I could marathon watch every episode.
