lowering a 36 float

alright, I don't think I'm too dumb... but we'll see

Took apart my float today to install new seals and lower it. Using two 30mm spacers from Fox. Only thing is, after I put it all back together there was no difference in travel at all. I still measure a hair over 160mm of stanchion showing and definitely has WAY more stroke than 100mm...

I put the spacers on top of the air shaft as shown in the manual by Fox, I even took the fork back apart to double check.

Now all I have is an oily mess, what did I screw up? Leaving it apart until I can find out whats wrong



it looks like the diagram on the left except with two spacers on top of the spring.

I some how can't think of a way it can't work, can you take a pic. of the rod the way you have it assembled?

You did put the spacer below the ring and the above the spring right.

Doesn't fox have clear instructions for this on the web site?
thats where i got those diagrams from

I'm gonna throw it back together again and hope that the tape measure and calipers I used to check it the first time were wrong.
