Rode with a friend who brought his colleagues, all bike shop mechanics. In the group one Fox fork and a Syncros dropper post were not working as they should on basically new bikes. And I thought I had a clapped out bike with my old Uzzi VP. :sarcastic:
Was overall really good though. We did hit some sweet jumps and drops on this "XC" trail. :rockout:

I'd take a stache hardtail with 3" tires because sandwich is weird, but I think 29x2.4-2.5 is the sweetspot personally. Maybe fatter if I was on circus clown wheels like 650b. I experimented with fatbikes and a krampus and came back to full suspension and narrower tires for most use.
Yeah. I feel like that's where he is going to land (29 x 2.4/5) and we have both ridden and liked the geometry of Yeti and Santa Cruz so that's where I started. We both have hardtails (Niners) and fat bikes (Mukluks) but are looking to update the FS rigs
