Well since we did the insulation our summer time energy bill went from $280/month to $110 per and winter dropped to less than $70/month with the heater rarely cycling vs $160 the previous year. All in all we have almost recouped our investment in less than one year. Money well spent

yea rolls that size would have to be unrolled for me to get them into the attic. i measured last night, the access hatch is 24" x 18".
Can you make the opening bigger to accomodate full rolls, or is that size dictated by joists? I'm assuming it is.
by the joists and the fact that it is located in the ceiling of a closet. i'd say PSP designed it, but the house is almost three times his age.
