Rainy day here in NY. I'll probably do some vegging on the couch tonight with the wife, any recommendations on newer movies? Something that flew under the radar maybe?

any more info on what films you're into? Don't want to suggest a whole bunch of films you'll hate

We started watching Moon, it wasn't my thing.

Happy? As in a movie that is so miserable, mind numbing, depressing and with a brutal, demoralizing statement about all things malevalent kind of happy?

I like all of Wes Andersons films that I've seen. Life Aquatic, Darjeeling Limited and Fantastic Mr. Fox are his best known films. Another quirky, slow comedy I'm a big fan of is Eagle vs Shark, I forget the director, it was produced in NZ with some of the cast of Flights Of The Concords involved.

If you can handle any more slow, uncomfortable comedy after working through Wes Andersons back catalogue, Lars & The real Girl is quite a touching film about how a small community rallies to help with the 'odd' behaviour of a friend.

Big Fish is also a must see in my books. Nice mix of fantasy story telling and true life tales.

Half Nelson is the story of a young teacher, his unusual teaching methods, relationships with his troubled students and his drug problem. great soundtrack to boot.

The Road is depressing and brooding, but a great film. A journey through a post apocalyptic landscape following the trials and tribulations of a man and his young son

I still find it hard to believe that Ryan Gosling would do Lars and Half Nelson, then do The Notebook...For anyone who hasn't seen the notebook, don't. For everyone who has, I'm sorry for you.

We were content that we got a movie that kept us thinking right through the next day.

I watched the whole thing and really didn't like it at all. Too B list-ish for me as well.

I just watched malice in wonderland on netflix and it was surprisingly good. COMPLETELY different than what I thought it would be.

Who said Mulholland Drive? That movie is wack and makes no sense. Naomi is hot in it though.

I love the movie Snatch. Same with Pulp Fiction.

OK, tried to watch Indiana Jones and the fail of crystal skulls. Wow, that was one of the worst movies I've seen half of.

Hellafornia. Formerly stumptown.
irreversible and a tub of popcorn, and a ice pick for the lobotomy you'll want afterwards.

Waxwork II and one to two hits of acid.

or
