Oh, go f**k yourself. That car is awesome. Just because it's not as awesome as a Ferrari doesn't make it crap.

Thanks for the car porn, I enjoyed it :D

its just way to gauty for me. I mean come on, 600 hp with a manual transmission? its more of a luxury car than a sports car. Dont tell me it kills ferraris on the track don, it weighs about a 1000 pounds more. It just seems like such a poser car to me. I stand by my outlandish and seemingly radical comments

Ya, a poser car that can outright destroy anything you will ever own. Does that make you even more of a poser? Or do you just have too much taste to be seen in a car that will blow most other things on the road away?

Your inability to express yourself in an intelligent manner does not help your argument.

Perhaps you meant "automatic" rather than "manual"? Or do you not understand the differences between the two?

"Killing" a car at the track has a great deal to do with the track in question. For instance, the SLR has been driven faster around the Ring than the 360. All of that hp and torque, despite it being porky, comes in handy on tracks that feature long high speed sections.

You really should stop while you're behind, lest you prove beyond a doubt that you're just a confused college (high school?) kid.

You must live in a reasonably priced neighborhood, cuz I can't imagine there's a car out there that costs more than the outrageous home prices here :mumble:

obviously you dont understand my point. It's not that the car sucks. I'm well aware its a very fast, very impressive car that will "blow away" 99 percent of the cars on the road. If you want a fast, flashy, expensive and impressive car, by all means go buy one. If you love driving, are a racing enthusiast, or are passionate about cars, then don't. I equate this to the guy who goes and buys some 4k xc race bike and then just rides it on roads and limestone paths. Sure he's got a nice bike, but he really has no business owning it. I'm not saying people shouldn't buy what they want, but somethings just don't make sense. Which comes to my 2 main gripes about the car (besides being a mercedes, ha ha ha). 1. supercharged oversized v-8? a true european super car like a porsche ferrari lambo, etc. are designed around a high rpm, lower displacement engine. Second, an automatic transmission? gimme a break. A real drivers car has manual, any joe blow can tell you that. It just proves the target market for this car. old rich guys who don't know how to drive real supercars.
And transcend, what is with you and personal attacks? i have nothing against you, but you decide to insult me numerous times, and imply that I am unintelligent and now either poor or incapable of large earnings. Neither could be farther from the truth. If you really want to go over finances and compare with me sometime i'd be more than happy to.

i'm not calling people who disagree with me stupid, i realize this is mostly based on perhaps less than rational, vague and subjective opinion.

ooops sorry, i meant automatic, my bad. i'm thinking more of like an f-1 track, which is supposed to be in the "spirit" of which these cars are designed. Those are typically more twisty and turny (word?) and more likely to be won in the turns and not the straightaways. college by the way :)

You sound like someone who has read a few car mags yet can't get your facts straight.

Do you think that 6,500 rpms are "high rpms"?

Is 5.7 liters a lower displacement engine?

You are making me laugh.

dude, the benz is a head turner no doubt. ferraris and lambos are ugly as sin and you get to ride around with a fire-breathing engine directly behind your right ear. i'd probably take a porche over that car, but at this point it seems unlikely that i'll ever own either or them.

I never said anything about your intelligence or earnings. You made what was clearly an un-educated, badly thought out response that was almost impossible to understand. Then you went on to call a $700 000 mercedes sports car a poser car, simply because you don't know what you are talking about and or don't like it.

Let's not forget the fact that now it's an old man car, for people who can't drive real cars. Give me a break and grow up. Full on race cars are starting to get auto clutches and paddle shifters. I guess the guys who get paid the big bucks to drive those aren't "real drivers"?

edit: I believe your beloved F430 has a clutchless paddle shifter setup as well. I can't recall exactly though.

i'm saying that 6500 is low to high your peak power output. take a 612, it has a peak power output around 7200, a 430 has it at 8500 a mclaren f1 has a peak power output at 7400. Did you read my post right?

It's difficult to have a reasonable conversation when you start out all hating

my BMW's peak output is 6500rpms, but I'm not even sure what that means :)

how am i hating? i'm asking if he read it correctly, and i am providing clarification in case i am being vague. I'm trying to provide reasonable justifications for my opinions, yet everyone seems to prefer to stick by their baseless claims and simply attack my respones as being vague, when I am clearly typing a lot of information out in a realatively short period of time, while trying to pull up a few numbers simultaneous. so i'm sorry if my writing skills do not do my argument justice
