Seeking for guidance in the bike forums, i saw the light...
After 7 years with my Sunn Notion Cr-Mo, its time to get a new bike, and i would like your help here.

Case file: DIRT is a four letter word to me, i live in the city, i ride in the city, i break my bones and burn my flesh in the city, concrete is what stands between me and earth's molten core. I ride "commuting" a minimum 30Km every day, launching from curbs, stairs, endoing, manualing, bunnyhopping and playing all the way.
It has to be Cr-Mo, 24" wheels, a complete bike (not a build) 700-1000euros and MAYBE multispeed, i have no experience with mtb singlespeed, i like the idea, i am willing to try it, but my city isn't exactly flatland and i would like the upgrade option of a rear 8speed.
These are my choices (not in a particular order), feel free to comment, add a choice (having in mind i live in europe), and help me with your opinion:

1. Specialized P.1 Cr-Mo + 24" front wheel
2. Specialized P.2 Cr-Mo + 24" wheels
3. Specialized P.Street Cr-Mo (Too heavy???)
4. Dmr Rhythm MKII Cr-Mo
5. Commencal Absolut Cr-Mo + 24" wheels (My first choice)
6. DK General Lee 24 + front brake, suspension. (I really really like it)

PS. Owners of the P.1 Cr-Mo (international version with the front discbrake), i would like to know if it can be converted to multi speed, and the bike weight.

I'd go with a DMR Rhythm, or the Commencal. The Rhythm would probably be my first choice though, because I really like the build. Single speed is fine for city riding (even with hills) as long as you have the right gear ratio. I run 36/16 with 24's, and it works great. (there are a lot of hills where I live too) If you're riding street, there is a lot less to break which is nice.

Why you want 24's?
Well as i see it, 20" is superfun for play but 30+ km per day? 26" is ok for 30+ km per day but not so fun, so 24" seems to be the golden middle

I love my General Lee too, though a few parts did need some upgrades. At $250 you have plenty left over compared to those other bikes though. I have an Evil Imperial too and ride in the same conditions you do. I almost never street ride the Evil anymore in favor of the General Lee, it only sees dirt time when I can get it. Also, I think your two qualifications (front brake, suspension) aren't necessary once you get used to it. I used to feel exactly the same, but you come to find you really don't need them for that type of riding. The rigid fork will help a lot with your 30km too.

I love my Absolut Cro-Mo to bits, it is a friggin beautiful bike to ride. No idea how it would handle with 24s but it just feels solid as hell and wants to be thrown at stuff that I wouldn't have touched on my old bike.
