Howdy,
We are going up Saturday afternoon, and staying til' sunday. I'm on a Demo, Melissa's on a Bullit. Say hi. Maybe I'll get a clean run all the way down dogbone... maybe.
On the last pitch of Dog Bone before the Stadium jump there is a padded tree in a really tough turn. On the left turn after that, there is a log drop you can see from the lift...
I lived through my first 3 attempts, that's about the nicest thing you can say. Maybe I'll finally land it clean Sunday. Be sure to point and laugh if you see me crashing from the lift (and call the paramedics if I don't get back up ) I'll be the one going really slow.
My first day there, and boy was I humbled!!!!
Used my helmet for the first time, (note to self, get fullface!) on Dogbone.
Saw you there Brian ('love it'), but I was being shy (and there were many Karpiels).
Boondocks ended up being my favorite of the day, techincal but flowy.
I got find the limits of my RFX...it's doesn't feel like I'm using most of my travel in the Z150...any sugestions? oil weight? lighter springs?
I rode my friends Dare and it was quite a different story, much smoother thru the rocks.
Sunday we rode Downieville, I love that place!!!
Next time I'd like to do the same thing, except with a trip to Sierraville hot springs inbetween
All in all one epic weekend of riding, smiles all round!

Top of the lift, you said; 'RFX, nice bike, do you like it?' me said; 'Love it!' as I wondered if you were a monkey and tried to collect myself for the ride down.
I think we crisscrossed a few times on dogbone while I got pummeled.
I searched for tuning tips on the z150 and I need to let all the air out!!!!
I feel silly trying to ride N* with three inches of travel with a fork that should do six...live and learn!
I just had my wifes bike powder coated @ Maas Bros. in Livermore, they do nice work. Taking another frame there next week. Cool on the Avalanche shirt!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!
I don't know if its the same price for everyone, but they did a 2 coat paint (white & a sparkle coat to make a pearl color) they tank the frame then sandblast it prior to painting. The 2 coat finish was $150 and I was told a single coat was $100.
Hey Brian!
Thanks for the info on the powder coating. That seems like a very good price. I realize they might have give you a deal since you know those guys though. I have a Bullit frame that I'd like to get re-coated and Santa Cruz wants $180 to do it including all new stickers. Then there is also shipping that they will charge. The said if anyone else powder coats the frame it will void the warranty. They also said their turn around time is 8 weeks. So, that is not the best deal in the world considering the 8 weeks to get it done. Their powder coating is not what they are known for either. It is ok but not great and tends not to hold up that well.
