Looking for stronger and lighter hubs and its between the hadleys or the chris kings. I may also switch to a thru axle bike later so re-sale is an issue. Im on a stinky dee-lux right now though. im also planing to lace them to mavic 823's
Stealth hubs dont click, because they dont use a ratchet. If you can afford to wait a while, the new design is supposed to solve the exploding-hub syndrome that plagued the old onesfrznnomad said:yeh every hub you get is going to click man its just the matter of how loud. i dont know exactly how loud the hadleys are but do a search im sure its come up numerous times.
They're also quite a bit more expensive. If your frame came with a Ringle, then is it a 12mm thru axle? If it is, that kind of makes your decision for you.SBDownhillRacer said:so no CK their lighter and stronger than both
if you friend has that bad of a d d, he shouldn't be outside...SBDownhillRacer said:do the hadleys click because i have a friend who has a.d.d. and if he herd clicking noises he might get distracted on the trail
yes, i think you do. i want a quick pedal in when i'm thru rough stuff or around a bend.Bicyclist said:Play is adjustable. And do you really need good engagement on a DH bike?
SBDownhillRacer said:im actually not getting a new frame with the ringle for a while so thats why im looking into a new set of hubs. my friend has CKs and he isnt all that impressed with them considering the amount of money he put on them
He probably regrets the price.seismic said:So, what is it your friend dosent like about the CKs ?
I'd have to disagree with that. Hubs are a part of the bike that you are going to notice quite a bit, especially the rear hub. I ended up with a rear XT that has started loosening up chronically, and I have to tighten the cones every other ride or so. If anything get a good rear hub and a lesser quality front as you will notice any faults in a rear hub far before you will notice it in the front.Bicyclist said:Why not just go the cheap route and do an XT rear hub and a Marzocchi front? They work fine and you save money you can put towards something that matters.
He got the CKs because they are the top Of course.....:love:SBDownhillRacer said:yea my friend kills himself becaus it was like 550 for the hubs front and rear for the CK and the hadleys are a hell of a lot less and the hopes are even less so he is wondering why he got the ck. has anyone tried the hadley 10mm bolt on kit for the rear hub and compared it to the CK fun bolt?
