Heh! She loves being out, but is super short haired with very little on her belly - even bundled into her big coat and whatnot, she doesn't last long. Old dog was fat (insulation!) and was ecstatic being out in the snow.

Now I just need to get my cat to wear a helmet and I'll build one ..behold DH kitty....
Old dog LOOOOOOOVED the bike. That day was ~5F and she was totally excited to go out. Lets!Fucking!Go!

So does the new. But it was teaching her to pull too much (she is...not to be let off leash/lead)

Fuck. I miss that dog.

Just placed my order for this frame to replace my evil wreckoning pictured below. Most of the parts will transfer over with the exception of my switch to a 27.5 rear wheel. Pretty much all Shimano with a fox 40 (grip 2 internals). Also doing some custom graphics via slick, thinking a grey/green combo, I can't stand the yellow highlights on the stock frame. Pumped!

Picked up a Chromag FU50 handlebar. I'm a fan of Renthal's because I like their shape (relatively little backsweep) but the don't make anything higher than a 40mm rise. I've tried Spank Spike 50mm bars and found the backsweep felt like too much. The Chromags on the other hand feel very similar to Renthals even though the backsweep is the same as the Spank's on paper.

TLDR - if you like the minimum backsweep feel of Renthals but want a taller bar, try the Chromags

Was going to wait until the new 36 was mounted, but here it goes!

Picked up a slightly used Norco Fluid FS and swapped the original 210x50 shock for a 210x55, taking the travel from 130 to 143mm. Moved all the components (including the shock) from my Polygon Siskiu T8 to the new frame and gave it a shakedown this past Saturday.

The full build is a bit heavier than the Siskiu but boy this thing carves turns like a razor. I still have to learn how to move it in the air (feels longer than the Siskiu, even when the rear center is just 5mm longer) but it also gives me moar confidence on weird landings.

Oh, did I mention it's #totallyblack?

That's pretty rad. What Geo changes with that shock?

I imagine with the new Fluid frames being out for a while now, these "old" ones might get more wallet friendly?

Thanks! At a glimpse, and with the Siskiu's 140mm Fox 34, it's as close to stock as it could be. The best part of throwing a 150mm 36 in it's how they both have the same A2C, so it won't alter the geometry. It rides a little higher because I'm not using 30% SAG in the shock, but closer to 20%.

There are plenty of people on Reddit saying some Norco employees ride the 55mm stroke shocks instead of the standard 50mm without issues, and after checking for tire contact at bottom out, I can tell they're right.

It's a size L frame, so it has 20mm longer reach and 5mm longer rear center than the Siskiu, so I guess it feels longer because I'm riding more "between the axles" instead of almost over the rear one. Also, this frame is a lot stiffer (and a tad heavier) so I guess that's why it feels like it needs a little more input to make it whip while airborne.

Norcos are pretty rare down here (they're supposedly getting a distributor this year), so I got this 2023 frame from a Chilean guy who barely rode it, with a Deluxe Select and the Tellis dropper for very little money. This is also the lastest generation IIRC.

I've got a Super Deluxe Select+ in the mail, and also a brand new Fox 36 coming in very soon. Then the Siskiu will get back its Fox DPS and get sold, along with the fork and dropper.

Fuckers waited for you to buy the Chromags to announce they’re now available in higher rises.

IMHO the only reasons to run Renthal are because you want the 7 degree sweep, or you want to look moto. I can't understand why they went to 9 for the higher rises.

Only had 3 rides on them in the fall, but my new 38mm carbon PNW Loam's feel pretty nice. The extra rise (18 mm) and 2 degrees of backsweep were not as jarring as I was expecting.

You would hate them at 5 degrees up but 10 degrees back.

Trump banned metric handlebars, so they are now 1.5" dia and made of American mined asbestos.
Well shit then I'm ordering 2...
That said I wish we would go metric on stuff for tools and mechanical....even when I go f911 bolts on race trucks and crap it would be nice to have metric...easier to mark and note for service sheets on inspection...

I'm all for asbestos handlebars and metric hardware and tools .so I'm in the middle i guess.

I'll take some 1.5 asbestos handle bars and a 35mm stem...in 410 wide on one side and imperial on other side of stem..

In hindsight, I probably should have just dug out my 20YO A Frames and rebuilt them, at least the pins were standard items.
