So I'm looking at forks for my Ellsworth Specialist, and the Nixon and Pike seem to have come down to it. Help me decide...does anyone have any major ride time on the TPC Nixon Elite? I'm using the bike for DJ as well as trail and XC riding. I know there's plenty of Manitou haters here, but I'd like some honest opinions.
Pros of the Nixon:
-Cheap, I can afford it brand new ($290 shipped from Greenfish)
-RTWD from 110-145mm for DJing
-TPC+
-Reg 20mm
Pros of the Pike:
-U-turn from 85-140mm (BETTER for DJing)
-Proven reliability
-Motion Control
-Maxle
But, as always, it comes down to cost. Pikes are around $300 used (as opposed to new), and thats about what I have to spend. Opinions? Thoughts? Any better suggestions?
