The trails are dialed and there's been some modifications, so heads up. Don't worry about the weather.. The worst case would be an inch or two and we have a full-on grader on-site so no worries.. Huge stack of wood to incenerate and plenty of warm grub for lunch.

Sitting in pa having a beer now. Driving in we got snow and hale but nothing stuck. Pa the town is dry but cold. Don't know about the hill but any day at dry hill is fun so i would get loaded up unless you want to leave more room in the truck for me!

Well some snow dusted pa last night. Here in town it is around and on some cars but nothing on the roads. Looking at the hills they look dusted. The news this morning showed way worse conditions in places like issy and around seattle. The trails should be just fine after a few trucks of riders. I have not seen the trails yet but i can't imagine it being awful so grab those bikes and get your ass out here! Not like your gunna melt from the wet, or are you :)

Thanks to everyone that braved the gloomy forcast! Thanks to Herman Logging for pimping the road at Odarkthirty, The riding was great and once again we got lucky....thanks to a bunch of people.
Greg Norman, Steve Johnson--maleprostitute, Dante, Jim, KONA Bikes, chef Joel and dave scott dave, and everyone else. Really a great kickoff for the year.
Worked hard and long, but we had a blast, and great to see everyone.

Thank you, ODS!!! I'm glad I made it out after all - my original ride out backed-out last-minute and I almost threw in the towel. Thanks to Andy and Alex with Syndrome Racing for getting me out there...I owe you both big-time!!!

Conditions were far from optimal, but still a blast to ride all the same. It's good to know I should be able to handle any race course in any condition after today. It was a rather impressive turnout considering the crap-shoot we had with the weather. I'd be curious to see what the actual numbers were. GOOD TIMES!!!

WOW that was FUN!!! Thanks ODS for putting on an event even in tha ****. With that kind of effort it would be really hard not to make the most of a day you may not normally be out and on trail.

I saw some new additions to trails that without snow look like they are going to be a ton of fun, lots of new hips and fun new trail stuff. Looking forward to riding it again soon.

My favorite run of the day was probably following Andy down Double Bypass and being the first ones down it. Seemed a little strange and was trying to get my bearings without hitting a tree. SUPER fun! Later in the day I found out the trail got re-routed! HAHA no wonder I was confused : )

That was a great day my 2nd shuttle day out there, Thank you guys who put it on I know how much time and effort gets put into maintaining trails.
I would like to know a little more about how DNR was talked into turning over the land. There is so much DNR land out by me but I don't even know where to start. Any tips or contact info would be great. I only pay in cold beer and group rides, thanks

About half the trails occupy DNR land and the othere is on a private timber companies land. We have a stewardship agreement with the DNR and we provide them with volunteer hours to use toward grants. We could be better at keeping track of things, but that's a work in progress. Maintaining the trails for safety, keeping insurance, managing the flow of riders, and much more go into it. We had to build trust from a shaky start as well. The private land owners are very cool, but the fear of liability is becoming greater. We look forward to Steven's Pass opening to relieve some pressure. It's clearer than ever after this weekend that we need places to ride. People drove up to 8 hours to get here not even knowing for sure if they would get snowed out.

Back to the point, just contact your regional recreation manager and be very organized explaining to them how much effort you are willing to put in, and how little you will ask of them. DNR is strapped for time and money, so use as little of each of those as you can. Also, build within some set of guidelines that are legitimate; ie. Black Rock, IMBA, Whistler, and the like.

Super great day! I was smiling the whole way home. I meant to take some photos too but it was just too hard to stop riding. Thanks again!

Get Involved with the work going on at Duthie Hill. Its fairly close to you (sammamish) and You can take part in building new trails and learning what kinda of hoops were jumped through to make things happen on a large scale.

The ODS guys have really done something special and PA always leaves a big **** eating grin on my face for a few days!

Sunday was one of the most fun days I have had at PA. the snow made it different and interesting. By 12 o clock it was pretty much dialed in. The justice line in the snow :rockout:

Just wanted to give a personal shout out as well, to all the folks that made it out to Dry Hill this weekend. We had no idea we'd be able to pull it off at all come Sun am. It was looking pretty bad there for a few. We definitely never would have made it without the crew Scott mentioned earlier. I had just as much fun watching everyone have a good time, as I could have on my bike. I love the PNW.

Here's a couple pics of the NDub "testing" the hill on Sat afternoon.

We'll see you at the first Fluidride Cup!

Lars,
I didn't see you or Casey (or bart) touch a bike all day! Did you all just make the "I ride these trails in good conditions" card? Your bike was WAY to clean :D Bart's new EVIL was porn on wheels. That thing was just sexy as hell!

Thanks to Jimmy from Kona for bringing bikes out for people to ride during the day!
