I'm really curious about them. I also really like they upped the sizing on them.Same. Have my works two brand new 2014 Jedi frames sitting in front of me. Would love to try one, and can't wait. But I won't give up my Zerode(especially at a loss)to try one. If I didn't own the Zerode I'd be building and not typing now ;-)
Building up a Canfield steel 29er though for long rides and commuting. Short arse stays should make it hella fun.
I just ordered the 111 frame, can't wait to build it up. Have you gotten any saddle time on it? Also, could you tell me what size the rear shock is? I might swap mine out for a DB air.my 2 bikes for 2014... Operator is still up for sale (might just replace the frame with the new carbon one) and my 2014 process 111, should be fun for my summer trip to switzerland!
watch the goodridge...it doesn't like to play nice with saint calipers and levers. even after a fresh bleed, they didn't feel as solid as ol' fashioned shimano hose.I just bought a 2013 Giant Borey 1. It's awesome
First impressions after a 2 months break from DH and riding it for the first time:
- It's so so (SO) much stiffer than my Voltage FR
- The large size of the bike and geometry feels a lot more natural for my size
- It jumps beautifully and just rides like the real deal; something with thousand of $$$ and hours of R&D behind it, not something built up out of a Frankenstein mixture of opportunistic and cheap parts.
- **** yeah!
Ghetto-mounted the Saint brake hose as it's too short, Goodridge hose is on the way and a Zee mech as I don't like SRAM's noisy X9 clutch offering
A 42t? Where the hell are your riding that thing. I dont' think I'ev ever wanted a 42 on any mtb ever. Even my DH is a 38-36After a month or more of waiting for all the parts, wheels are finally built and she's ready to rumble. It's a 2014 Spitfire v2 with 650b wheels and dropouts currently in the low setting. XFusion Sweep fork, CCDBA, purple Pro 2s on WTB Frequency i32 rims, TRS+ cranks with direct mount M-type ring, SixC bars, and Wolftooth 42t cog highlight some of the build items that I was most stoked about.
wolftooth 42t cassette ring, not chainring.A 42t? Where the hell are your riding that thing. I dont' think I'ev ever wanted a 42 on any mtb ever. Even my DH is a 38-36
Its a 42t rear cog; poor (sane) mans XX1 cassetteBased on the ring in the pic, I am sure that is a typo and he meant 32.
I havn't rode it yet Theres 3 feet of snow and it's -15 up here right now The length of the rear shock is stock 184X44mm. I don't really plan on changing the rear shock seeing as I've always liked the monarchs (they do the job pretty damn well for a "basic" shock).I just ordered the 111 frame, can't wait to build it up. Have you gotten any saddle time on it? Also, could you tell me what size the rear shock is? I might swap mine out for a DB air.
I heard a 42t chainring was enduro, so I bought one . Nah its a 34t chainring, 42t large cassette cog. Dan-o got it right, it's the poor man's alternative to 11 speed. Haven't had a chance to really put it through the ringer yet but it shifts very well, as well as any regular XT cassette really.A 42t? Where the hell are your riding that thing. I cannot wait for the while stuff to disappear.
A new build with some budget parts, single speed.
