I grew up near there. Supposedly the "crazy woman" was some white woman whose family was attacked by Sioux. After witnessing the murder of her family she went bonkers and killed all the Indians of the attacking party. The tribe left her alone after that and even watched over her and brought her food and stuff but she was nuts and lived in solitary the rest of her life in the boondocks of Wyoming. Pretty cool legend...
