For those that are unfamiliar, Windrock is one of the most difficult and technically demanding DH parks on the East Coast. When I first went there I was racing Expert class, and it humbled me quickly. It's no surprise that DHers are notorious smack talkers, but out there no one gave me any shit for freaking out on the first run. I actually went off by myself and sat down by a creek to get my head right. One dude looked at me and said that everyone goes through that their first time at the rock.
While it appears a lot of brownish detritus on the ground are leaves, I'm pretty sure they were actually colonies of ticks...
