Monkeyfest is a gathering of beer drinkers with a biking problem. Eric has it correct, there is much beer consumed and much drunken debauchery. It is usually held mid-summer, in East Burke, VT at the Kingdom Trails trail network.
oh frig, i'm not too far from there! love the kingdom trails:eek:

It's only a 19 hour drive for me. What's typical attendance? Would a carbon hard tail survive?
A couple of hundred Slutty Naked chicks and a few members. Carbon Hardtail would be fine if you can ignore everyone laughing at you after you catch up.

M-fest looks like a great time! Been riding KTA in mid-Sept with another group since 2001.
If able to plan a July escape Id love to join-in.

[BTW- great job on the crash video. First time seeing a tubed DH tire bead blow-off.]

Never seen anyone run Kendas? Seems to be pretty common over on this side with them....

Sure. Didn't like / trust 'em tubeless, but never saw ^ this.
Have burped a tubed tire, but never a complete blow-off.
Was the vid shot on Kitchel or over on the mtn?

For some reason here in Socal, everyone just loves teh kendas, probably the pricing for what your getting. Do not get me wrong, kenda had some good offerings, but seems here people have a hard on for the nevegal, and it just fits loose..... always saw those dis mounting themselves....

Just more evidence that most people in SoCal are retards.

Quite possilby the worst tire I've ever had the misfortune of using.

I take that back. The Ummagumma Special Ed tire I tried in the mid-90's was orders of magnitudes worse.

It was on Jester over on Burke Mountain. I'm still amazed that I caught it on video so well AND that none of us ran him over.

It's too quiet in here... I like it.

Anyways, this warm weather is nice for melting the snow in the northeast though I'm sure the trails are slop.
My bikes in the shop waiting for parts so riding is on hold for now.

friday night #2 son had two basketball games, school and league, and then we hosted some guys who came to town for a church campus retreat. they were good guys, amazingly well-spoken and able to communicate with grownups.
saturday we went to #1 son's theater rehearsal to take headshots for the program for the upcoming show. took #2 to the gym where he was videoing games for a kid's bball league. steaks, salad, and couscous for dinner. i have no idea why tbones would be 3.99 a pound, but they were.
today we went to church, had lunch, watched a little football, i took a nap, went out for a ride on the mup, came back, and watched the texans lose :( and been messing around on the puter since.

I was quoting you because it's the same thing I have to share. Nothingness; also, you're grammar is meh (;)).

That picture is the exact opposite of me and you know it. Exact opposite!

Factory farming, hormones, antibiotics, abuse etc. That's probably why they're so cheap.

Food politics aside, sounds like a busy, fun weekend.

Yeah, nice avoidance job to brake right, and dive left into the weeds.
Noticed too how, after 2 nano-seconds to determine he was okay, ALL focus went to the tire / wheel, while he lay on the ground sucking air...
Y'all must be good friends.

Went for a hike with a big armful of trail tools. I did a tiny bit of work but mostly I was there to plant tools. I'm moving out of the area on Tuesday and I'm travelling light. In the spring I'll get in touch with a couple of the local trail builders a give them directions to find their "presents".

I also broke in to somebody's garage and left them a mountain bike. They won't find it till spring either.

This is more fun than the last time I moved even though I gave away WAY more stuff then.
