i think CFB has a 4130 F1 coming out. Go with steel if possible. i think youre on the right path in choosing between those two companies. they are built and ridden by their respective owners and you can actually call and talk to them. That is a major advantage. I think the cost between the two will be about the same eitherway.

since your around Diablo, have you ridden a RL ? Im sure one of our cult members or the bmw crew will let you take theirs for a spin. The yellow RL pictured above on Dominion is Doc, who owns, creates and fabricates all the bmws.

he's never gotten around to take mine or our other buddies down the mtn..

want to manual, get a 24 inch rear wheel. you can bring the chainstay in closer aswell with the 24. and it'd be even lower to the ground.

Chris for your style, I don't think the brooklyn will fly. It's got some long ass chainstays.

are you only looking at the canfield?

what about an M3 as shown before?
what about a V10? clearly the same but perhaps a brand issue for you.
what about cannondales new gracia?
Demo?
CLifcat? etc?

between the canfield and the Beemer... I'm gonna say canfield. Unless you decide to stick a hardtail for rochester, and then just take out the brooklyn for diablo/pkill etc... then i would say brooklyn.. It really does eat the ground up very nicely. Also, properly set up I bet it jumps great.

true, shorter than his dare's 17.5" chainstay now. Hmm. In that case, we should not use DHS's bike at all for comparision, chris i think you've got 30-40lbs on him.. might just be making the bike sag more than you care. BMdubs are sweet. that is true for sure.

Demo's are to big I've already tried them, I'll never own a crap and fail again after my last experience with one. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on an intense. Canfield appeals to me for lts of reasons. Mainly the hundreds of solid reviews. The thing is I'm more of a freerider than a dh'r I love the streets, monster jumps, things made of wood and so on. I need a bike that wasn't neccesarily designed to keep the front end glued to the ground. Besides canfield bros. chain line is amazing

As for hardtails I need you Draco guys to rip off my specialist design and one off me a steel one. The Alluminum just isn't gonnna last much longer

draco we've tried the V10, that one didn't go so well.

i think Amish NEEDs a Steel frame. if he can get the F1 in steel i'd say go for it.

It sounds like it may be time for a new frame. What are you going to do with you Dare? I don't think it will sell too fast here...

Amish, you didn't happen to race collegiately this past year? Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else with a steed of Ellsworths.

In anycase, my 2 cents would include maybe checking one of these Bad Larry's out.

Honestly i might just keep it, and stick it up on the wall for a rainy day. It's the bike a learned to really get down on so it holds a lot of sentimental value. Who knows maybe one day I'll figure out how to keep a chain on it and then we'll be all good. Its a sick urban basher and Dj'r I never have any problems there. Its when I take it to places like Diablo/platty and really light it up that the **** hits the fan

every bolt is constantly loose no matter how many times i tighten them or how strong the lock tight I use. Cant keep the chainguide working right, chains always getting sucked up which inturn destroys derailuers and the hanger. Bottom brackets always fall out. The list goes on and on. In fairness I do beat the piss out of the bike 15-20ft drops huge Dj's and so on. It just doesnt seem to take the abuse
welcome to the world of RIPOFF that is Tony Ellsworth's business.

sell the Dare to some Yuppie Poseur who thinks the Los Angeles Gangsta lettering looks pimp, yo! get yourself a frame that isn't made out of chewing gum and tinfoil with Instant Center Tracking as its big selling point.

That sounds like me and at this point my demo 9 is perfect. If I was racing it would be canfield all day long(love rearward axle path).
