The idea of Moab over a weekend in fall makes me twitchy...Ok hear me out... normal Moab is spring time stuff, save for the high country.
If we are gonna do a Late September Monkeyfest we should try and tour as much high country as possible.
For example...
Land DIA Thursday. Ride MC Friday, Moab Sat - TWE Sunday - fly out SLC Monday.
Let me know if you have any questions... my info is a bit old, but the trail hasn't really changed much over 30 years. If I can scrape together enough cash to finish up the AT then I might fly out to Denver to thru hike the Colorado Trail
If I'm not living here and using them, I've got the latest guide and pocket guide books I can lend you beforehand. If I can scrape together enough cash to finish up the AT then I might fly out to Denver to thru hike the Colorado Trail. A wee little bike ride with the monkey collective could be fun way to top off 1300 miles.
Okay, but you're driving.Burro Down From Denver In A Day ... hmm, has a nice ring to it.
Normal Moab is fall time stuff as well. While I don't disagree that September is prime time for the high country in Colorado, it doesn't suck to be in Moab around then either. But IMNSHO pick one or the other and don't try to cram both into one trip, unless you have at least a week to get it done. Heck, I did Bellingham and Squamish in 6 days and it wasn't enough riding in either spot for me.Ok hear me out... normal Moab is spring time stuff, save for the high country.

I can't imagine herding a group on a tight hit-n-run trip but I love a challenge.Normal Moab is fall time stuff as well. Spring IS prime Moab season, but this all started from stupid 6th doing his stupid TWE loop, which was stupid, and making me think about riding the Enchilada. Fall is the only sane time to do that.Ok hear me out... normal Moab is spring time stuff, save for the high country.

the crew must ride The Whole Enchilada while eating enchiladas. this is the way.Spring IS prime Moab season, but this all started from stupid 6th doing his stupid TWE loop, which was stupid, and making me think about riding the Enchilada. Fall is the only sane time to do that.
Summer is actually a not-too-bad time to ride Burro-down. And some other high country goodies in the area...Spring IS prime Moab season, but this all started from stupid 6th doing his stupid TWE loop, which was stupid, and making me think about riding the Enchilada. Fall is the only sane time to do that.
Hey! I resemble that remark.stupid 6th doing his stupid TWE loop, which was stupid
This. I can picture the line at the top of Burro. That being said it might be worth it to meet some more of you clowns then dip out to something else…The idea of Moab over a weekend in fall makes me twitchy...
He'll be too busy riding Sovereign (does that still exist??) and Slick Rock with the proper motorbikesAgreed, but we could do TWE on Thursday or Friday, then other shenanigans the rest of the time, like watch Toshi climb the Notch on his motosicle.
