My two boys are the best part of my life. I still get to ride, and I still get the bills paid. The key is having a wife who understands you need to have hobbies and free time...

Me and my wife were together for 5 years before we decided to mold DNA. Mostly my choice, and like others have already said, "you're never ready."

I'm stoked. I have got some practice with my nephew already. My wife is pretty chill. She knows I enjoy riding and she's already planning on just spending time with the grandparents when I want to do short riding trips. It's definitely going to be quite the adjustment though.
agreed- you'll be fine! couple of tips, my employer required my to use up all my pto before i could take paid family leave thru CA EDD. my HR helped with thge paperwork, then it registered online. after that first chunk, you can take more chunks or work part time and supplement with the rest of the 6 weeks that you have left

I've loved having my two since day 1. Biggest thing that made me a dad was a very high dollar breast pump from the hospital staff that allowed the missus to have back up in the fridge. She and I agreed from day 1 that I'd do the middle of the night feedings. It's made all the difference in my bond with them. Plus, they're nowhere near as sick as others kids over the same period.
Oldest just turned 9 and youngest turns 7 Sunday. Little animals busted out a pretty long trail ride Saturday with me and I've never been prouder than watching them go.

Things I've learned:
Buy used toys. The kid can't tell the difference
When possible, buy used clothes. They grow through them so fast it's not worth buying them. Also, family will buy endless new clothes.
Get a car seat that works with a snap'n'go stroller.
Get a snap'n'go stroller.
Get a base for each car
The Dr Brown's bottles are the best for reducing air intake
Become a member at Babies'r'Us. You can pre-fill the VIB cash card and use it for diapers, formula, and food. It creditcredits at a 10% discount. That plus the regular coupons you can get from them and Similac means HUGE savings.
Look into the Target brand diapers. They work just as well, and are about 25% cheaper.
Get a bottle drying rack. So much easier.

We have a metric ton of clothes already. I don't think we'll have to buy any for at least the first couple years. We already got a ton of stuff, stroller included, with the bases and car seat at her shower.

Now, the #1 thing that you need to know is this...
The HAro z-10 is the absolute SMALLEST ballance bike you can get, so it will be the first one that your little tyke can fit on.
My son got his when he was 1, but didn't show any interest in it until he was 2. After he finally decided to try it out, he was cruising 40-50ft w/o touching his feet within a week or two. Now we go to the park and he bombs down this little grassy knoll over and over and over..... Then he is super tired, eats dinner and goes to sleep peacfully within a few min. Now THAT is priceless!!!
