As far as the Race Bike proto with the gear box, according to the guy on the stand, is still a prototype, and its a "secret" whats inside, but he garantied there's no Nexus, Rohlf, cassete or Petespeed type thing inside, that its was designed by them from the ground up.
The bike was also fited wth brembo brakes, which he claimed were the best brakes he ever used.

These should have been there but are probably too new and under
the radar, but deserve a spotlight anyway..Industry Nine freeride
wheelset. Around a full pound lighter than a comparable freeride
wheelset...and you can use your own rim.

Saw these bad boys in person and they are AWESOME to behold.
NO nipples b/c the spoke itself has the nipple flats machined into the
tip of the spoke itself and threads straight into the hub itself. You
can't see but the spoke flares out near the hub and the head is substantially bulkier at the threads.

I saw those at Mt. Snow and talked to one of the Morewood guys about them.

Those are going to be a big deal for sure.

WOW
someone stop this guy...............
Heh Heh...

The RICHI bikes are fu@#ing brutal...

I came across them a few months ago and did some research - these guys scare the hell out of me: they used to take Ohlins shocks off of MX bikes (like a Honda 250) and mount them on their frames... in the first picture the DH rig in the background is a bike called "The Hulk" - the construction is completely insane... Thick-wall box aluminum so big, you could use it to build skyscrapers with.

Makes me wonder just what the hell these guys are expecting people to ride over...

I'd keep an eye on these guys - their bikes would be perfect for a Red Bull Rampage...

hey, why not.
I'm talking about the "Hulk".
Even for something like the rampage/etc its total overkill.
As it stands the limiting factor in riding is the rider and not the bike, there are plenty of bikes out there that can handle the hardest riders, and still be decent handling and efficient pedalling bikes.

I stood next to that bike yesterday, its HUGE, taller than a MX bike, very high CG, and for sure weighs a ton. Sure it looks cool, but is it necessary?

(sigh)...God...

Just checked out Spank-Bike's website...

Looks as if them wacky Deutchelanders have overdosed on hip-hop.

They have a set of handlebars called the "Bitch-Stick"...

...makes me embarassed to be German.

I guess in the grand scheme of things, for every Nicolai you must have a Spank-Bike... there's symmetry in that.

montreal bitch
why two shocks on that bike?

I think all you have to do is look at the leverage the swingarm has.

I didn't mention those sram brakes because they look like ass. look how much material is there not accomplishing anything.
