Check out these old Manitou Six Comps I got for a build I am doing at the moment (freshly blue powder coated Speccy — also gonna have mechanical discs on it). They are in amazing condition, I have a feeling they have lived in a shed for 99.99999% of their life. They have less stiction than some far more modern forks and everything seems to be smooth and tight still.

So should I just pack up a bunch of stuff to send or or is it a wait-till-a-bike-forms-and-see-if-I-have-relevant-contributions kind of thing?

Please wait. I am a little behind on things. I have 3 bikes to finish first. QBP is kind of slow.

The Cassette, Chainrings, and Chain. I was planning to use are shit. The fork has a wear spot on the stanchion from a bad bushing. I can reuse a stanchion from another older fork I have. It may not work. If it doesn't then I will reuse the old worn out one. I think it would be fine as it didn't leak. The service is done except I need more Fox Blue pillow packs. Rear wheel has been secured. I was hoping a used front disc wheel could be found. I will need 9 speed shifters and a drivetrain. I have an octalink Bottom Bracket that seems new and is the right size. Just no cranks. But with new chainrings it would work. It's almost worth it to buy a cheap SLX setup. Then pay for the replacement chainrings. The XT rear derailleur I have is pretty beat on. My candidate is out of the running. So that is up to you guys. My budget is $150 for the build and shipping. I have secured a box and just need packing material. Donations can be forwarded to: JD Wilke 203 Milburn Street #3, Rochester NY 14607. Sorry for the delay.

I missed that in the write-up; have a ton of 9spd SRAM stuff. Shifter and derailleur, plenty of cassettes. I can probably dig up some Deore triple cranks with some sort of rings...have a BB for Shimano cranks? running a front derailleur? Don't think I have any but will check...what mounting?

26" wheels? QR or TA front?

Chainrings, 8/9 spd cassettes, chains, couple of 9-spd SRAM shifters (grip and trigger) and mechs. One 10 speed zee shifter, cassette, and chain. One set Deore cranks. An old stem or two.

I will see how I can box it up to ship from here. I will definitely get at least a large flat rate box going by today or tomorrow. Fitting two piece cranks in one of those could be problematic tho.

Some of the crap laying around that needs to go
6FE18067-1B90-4268-A024-AFABE44497FE.jpeg

Mavic / King wheelset.
rear wheel with Phil Wood Hub and MTX33 rim
older Hayes brakes in the bag, still work perfect.
Marz Z1 with leaky seal.
RST Velvet.
lowered DJ1
Kona Dawg w/ Fox something or other (works fine)
CC Double Barrel (original version, leaky seal)
frame from maker that i won't name, but you know who it is
couple pairs of cranks and guides

Box of parts received. Just have not wrapped my head around your generosity. Any part not utilized for the build will be donated to: R Community Bikes | Recycling Bikes for Rochester, NY Just so you know. Once again Permij to you my friend Mike. Jim. Made my day. Boxer project is almost done. So, I will be able to attend to the project soon. This certainly keeps the momentum up. Thanks

I'm glad it was useful and know the recycling bikes place is a great landing spot for all that stuff. But if you want to hold on to anything for future Stinkybike builds, be my guest! I'd love to see it used on something tangible.

I thought I'd be able to give a lot of it away to riders here, but those who need bicycles don't use anything compatible with it and those who ride bikes for pleasure are all on the absolute latest model everything. Mountain biking largely took off here after all those components were already outddated.

I may have some more to send on. Edit: And thanks to YOU for donating the labor and coordination and effort. All I did was mail some old stuff away.

I have a near new 18" BMX with coaster brake and hand brakes I got to let Marshall ride, but the coaster brake messed him up.

You want me to bring it to you or ship it somewhere?

The brakes are backordered until April 15th. The levers until forever. Still no front wheel. Parts are hard to come by for me. I am sorry for that.

Front Wheel was poorly built. I sent it back. I should have kept it and used the parts to build a properly built one.

I need to make room in the garage, I will bring this little bike to you if you got space for it. I also have some mini Dia Comp V brakes I think. I never upgraded Lil Man's Redline.

I have two disc fronts and a rear, 26"...rear would need a little work replacing one of those spoke cups as it is OG Mavic UST.

The real catch is they are Hope Bulb hubs and both fronts are 20mm thru ...and the qr adapter cap has ceased to be available for eons.

(Ed: if anyone else has a need for any of that, classic MTB wall art bike or whatever, it's yours for price of shipping...)

Mind posting a list of what else is remaining? I’m in cleanout mode and happy to help, or even purchase missing bits.

The Saint Single Pot brakes need a piston (Left front) and all 4 Piston seals and new pads all around. Hope rear hub needs an axle. May have to abandon the Hope wheel for a XT that needs a freehub and several spokes. Pedals. I am hoping the Octalink BB I have works with the LX cranks I have. a 4-bolt middle chainring maybe.

I’ll send some chainrings.

What hope hub is it and what axle do you want? I’ll try to track one down.

The $60 for the axle and can be used to replace the spokes and nipples on the XT wheel. Plus, I have a 9speed freehub in new condition. The Hope freehub may or may not be compatible with the Sram Kit that was donated and is in poor condition. A box of 14g spokes and brass nipples can go a long way and fix many wheels. The Hope hub requires too much exacting service to be a responsible choice for a donated bike.
