The regular WRX sedan is reportedly faster than the hi-zoot STi "wagon egg." A lot cheaper too.

edit: Buy a used one in the body style you prefer and STFU.

Except as my friend found out, the STi has a much better transmission. He bought his wife a WRX that had a few mods and blew the hell out of the trans. Nearly $3000 to fix.

A dude around here blew up 2 transmissions with his STi spec WRX in a matter of a few months. That is the biggest problem when adding power to those, the engine can handle it (even with stock injectors) but the clutch and transmission don't like it so much.

Probably had a really stiff clutch, plenty of mods and wanted to do an AWD burnout. That's what happens usually. You can still have tons of power in those cars as long as you don't run the stiffest clutch and dump it all the time.

Just make sure to stay away from the 07 Sti... That engine is a ticking time bomb...especially if you do any modding
