A dude around here blew up 2 transmissions with his STi spec WRX in a matter of a few months. That is the biggest problem when adding power to those, the engine can handle it (even with stock injectors) but the clutch and transmission don't like it so much.
Probably had a really stiff clutch, plenty of mods and wanted to do an AWD burnout. That's what happens usually. You can still have tons of power in those cars as long as you don't run the stiffest clutch and dump it all the time.
