Wait until they pull those pins out. The noise is not pleasant, not painful but when the doc pulls out his little pair of pliers I bet you'll get a sweat up.:(

Glad to see you decided to keep the hand. Although a quick-disconnect accessory attachment would have been badass.

WOW! that is incredible..

I don't get it, wouldn't having something sticking through your skin make it more likely to develop an infection? I havn't seen anything like that before I am just curious what it is doing

they are not very important in the form of possible infections. however the three incisions and 30-some staples and stitches may be. uhm they are there to form a truss or support type mechanism to keep my hand where iit needs to be. if my hand stays within 2 millimeters of its original location then i should get at least 90 percent of my range of movement back and greatly decrease the amount of arthritis i willl experience in my later years. i get the staples/sutures removed friday of next week, the pins usually stay in 6-8 weeks at which point i will go to the doctor and he will grab them with pliers and yank them out.

i thoufght having the metal electromagnetically charged with a babe magnet would be the coolest thing. that way when girls would walk by thery would get pulled to my hand which would be conveniently located at booty grabbin height:devil:

Daaaammmnnnn Smokey. That looks rough. Hope you heal up well. You should run electricity between the two prongs and use it to give the ladies a little shocka when you walk by.

Biggins is wincing in writhing pain because.....

A) He suffered a major injury to his wrist

B) He's finally accepted the fact that Friends is really not coming out with any new seasons.

C) He see's yet another thread being started by Jacksonpt about his Yeti 575.

D) The doctor told him that during his wrist surgery he wouldn't be able to accomodate Biggin's wishes to install a remote control inside his wrist.

E) He actually wasn't in too much pain here.... he was actually just tryin to squeeze out a healthy fart.

whoa. good luck with recovery. having pins out isn't as awful as it's been made out to be, although it is a bit weird, feeling the pins scratch around against your arm's bones... (i had four in my forearm about 10 years ago, but have no remaining hardware so can't be part of your new clique  )

Biggins and FT would own that club. Biggins would need some king of special power in his hand.

I wonder who else in this forum is sporting bolt on Ti.

Hope you heal up quick man!
OK, what I about is going to come across as negative, but it is not meant to be, just honest.
The worst pain that you are going to have is when they take the cast off for good, and you have to start moving it again.
This sucks horribly, and hurts worse than breaking it.
It is just something that you have to work through with therapy.
Also, your wrist is always gonna hurt you when you ride. I don't mean it will hold you back or anything, but it will be sore from time to time. It is just the nature of bad wrist injuries.
Wow, I am sounding like Debbie Downer this morning.
Don't sweat it though, I already feel all the way recovered from mine. The reason I am telling you this is simply because when you first see your wrist out of the cast after 3 months, it will look like it will never work again. But it all comes back fairly quickly.
Good Luck, JR

I think this is true for almost any serious injury/reconstructive surgery.

However, I dont know about the former, I know someone who had a pretty bad wrist injury where he actually broke several of the bones in his wrist (no permanent hardware though) he is fine, no chrinic pain or anything. I think a lot of it has to do with the individual.
