I've been to Austin and stood at the top of that gap, no thanks. Its Jimmy "the Man" not Jimmy Levan.

Paul Buchannan actually just rocked that thing with out even really thinking about it a bit later, that dude is really under rated.

This is the next level. I really can't wrap my head around this stuff, but I'm gonna have to try it :-)

the fixie flatland i've been seeing in the american hipster-fixie scene videos is beginner dork-arround stuff when compared to videos from germany, eastern europe, russia, etc. where they've had a sport called KUNST ARTISTIC CYCLING (or something like that) on track bikes for a long time.

check this out.

but this one is LOL.... skip to 3:00 or so look at this chick!!!

I agree, like the trackstand stuff doesn't trip my trigger, but hop to wheelie, wheelie to nose wheelie, full cabbing stairs, or doing curved wall rides (while pedaling), thats for real. This didn't down on me till later either, I ride a little bmx bike when I do that sort of thing, which is tight, flickable, whatever, those bikes are tall, long, seats are up, whatever. To do those tricks on a skinny big bike and having to pedal the whole time, thats knarly! I mean, I mess up just doing pedal airs.

Tough stuff, no doubt. The most I could ever do was get a decent bunnyhop. I just hate watching those videos because I can't stop thinking about hard seat landings and bent rims.

I don't get why you wouldn't just ride a bmx bike if you're going to be the same tricks...oh wait this is a mtb forum! just kidding, but yeah i really don't get fixies.

On the Profile fixie site all the riders talk about the parts they break, forks, frames, wheels, all the time. Oh well, like V said, you do what you have fun doing. Personally I will choose not to trash my $1000 Gunnar frame by doing sprocket stuff and grinds, or threes down stairs, but they sure are fun to ride. Honestly, I think everyone should have one sitting around to run to the store or whatever. Most of the T1 guys have them, and Ian Schwartz actually works as a messenger on one. Go out and try it.

This is my last one, check out the longest skid at the end (not to mention some of the crashes that you don't really get to see the aftermath at the beginning look pretty knarly.

ya, fixed freestyle or whatever you call it is pretty crazy actually. i like messing around on my fixie doing tricks, but nothing over the top that mite break parts at this point. i have 180'd though, but stopped after i fell pretty hard. it's fun stuff though.
