The new bottom bracket just came in, and is getting put on. If he can get the headtube reamed and faced, the bike will be ridden at Plattekill this weekend for its inaugural ride.any news on the new frame, riding reports from this weekend?
It'll be done Friday night. He's been a little slow lately with work and school.no, i still look at it, and am very curious to see how it rides, pics of riding would be awsum too
i careI dont care about diablo, I juut want to be neer that bike
I'm sure I read somewhere it was going to be painted.....maybe I'm wrrrrr........So its been powder coated?
Looking forward to hearing about the performance. Having a somewhat consistent WB length through the range of travel should be quite stable.
Should be built early to mid June. Ride report on the first one will be coming very soon as well.
It was ridden on opening day at Diablo. The shock blew up, the idler pulley broke off, the bike didn't ride well. Haha, oh well. All I'll say now is that he has something new in the works, that is quite different, and should be here in 4-6 weeks. Design for it should be done in two weeks.Alright here it is, my weekly nag. lol
10 or 11 pound steel frame??? that would be so sick in aluminumSteel.
New frame will be steel front triangle with an aluminum swingarm. Yummy.10 or 11 pound steel frame??? that would be so sick in aluminum
any update on how the project is coming along? this is the first time i've looked at this thread.New frame will be steel front triangle with an aluminum swingarm. Yummy.
All I'm saying for this one is that it's a single pivot, and it should be done in a few weeks. It's real sweet too...SO what are the new plans?
It's much shorter now. Actually, this new one is totally, 100% different. He could alter the Obsession, but I don't think he wants to. Time for some new things...shawturr chane stai!
:huh:Mabye im seing it wrong, but if you make the distance between the lower forward bearing and the shock eyelet the same as the stroke and the upper link twice as long as the radius (6' if the stroke of the shock is 3' or 5.5' w/ a 2.75' stroke) you will have a damn near vertical wheel path.
ouch, sucks to hear that man. the bike looked so good!It was ridden on opening day at Diablo. The shock blew up, the idler pulley broke off, the bike didn't ride well. Haha, oh well. All I'll say now is that he has something new in the works, that is quite different, and should be here in 4-6 weeks. Design for it should be done in two weeks.
That "new" bike has been canned. He's got a couple of really cool designs, but doesn't really want to put the money and effort into building one at this time.So did the new bike move to a new thread or is it not happening?
Oh, you'll see more from him, and hopefully in about a week . Just not a frame at this point in time.Thats a bummer, I realy enjoyed the forums and watching the bike come together. If he ever decides to build again I would love to see it.
Thanks
