A few years back a rumor was started that they were going to open a Taco Bell in Bethel, AK. You can find it on a map and to the math yourself. Thing is, they had a Subway out there, I think there's still one in Nome, so there is some precedent, but the rumor took on a life of it's own and suddenly everyone was talking about how this was just around the corner. When the rumor was finally squashed by Taco Bell, they flew a plane-load of tacos out there as a consolation.
