Hard to own an old bike with some parts pushing 10 years. This time around it was the wheelset giving up. Got lucky and a guy down the road had a 2017 DT Swiss E1650 I was able to buy for 75 USD. Not easy to find non boost parts. Testing it later today hopefully.

Decided to go fishing yesterday after work. Caught a nice chain pickerel that I admired and set free. Did a bunch of trail clearing after that, nobody seems to pay attention to this little town park.

Have to head into the office for team building later. Going axe throwing with a bunch of noodley armed enginerds. Should be amusing.

Back in the office today, ugh. Had a horrible sleep last night, thank you cat. And forgot my cell phone at home.

Is today over yet?

DSO decided it needed to bark at something at 230...

Lifts start spinning in under 2 hours though, first lift served since 2019.

Here. Back-back meetings 9-4.

Took Haley for a ride yesterday with a pretty substantial climb. She was grinding and doing well until the mosquitoes became unbearable, so we turned around. She did her first creek crossing and loved it. She tried to ride around the 4x and has now decided that she needs a full suspension bike. Kids these days...

Sorry, I'm Canadian ..sorry...
Here.

Woke up sleepy. Coffee has done all it can to rescue the day, seems to be winning in actuality....

Parts holding pattern today I think....

Road ride tonight, went tire kicking at the LBS lsat night, kinda astounded what they think they can charge for a bike nowadays. My Ghost was just as well equipped in 2017 for $7000 less than any bike in that store. The Yeti is pretty, but not $12K out the door pretty.....

Think it'll be used from here on in for this guy. Might piece together something over winter and stick to road till i get some legs back.

Early morning ride with a couple good buddies was just what I needed. might have been better had I gotten my ass out of bed early enough to at least make some coffee. Woof.

Doc did a 3 week checkup on my broken foot/toe. Not looking good, and pain levels are still high. Now I get to see a specialist. Oh joy.

I’m vaccinated, have ton of PTO, and a little stir crazy, but I still can’t do much because it’s stupid painful to walk for the foreseeable future.

That phalanx hurts.

From my report.
Nondisplaced intra-articular fracture at the base of the first distal phalanx,
with less distinct margins, compatible with progressive incomplete healing. No
significant osseous bridging.

I assume you are in a boot?

Did @6thElement curse you with said affliction?

Last day of vacation and I feel like shit this morning so Espresso and Ibuprofen. Still working on cleaning the truck/camper so Ruth can take off on Wednesday for a horse show. She is doing her first Grand Prix ride on this horse. I was going to go for a ride but not feeling like this. Probably go out for a long walk with the dogs instead.
