Finally got a gas grill yesterday and it was a hit. Just a small and very portable one but enough for my needs. More excited about getting my Pike back on Thursday which is getting its first ever full service.

'Morning. I ran and now I have coffee and a day full of meetings. We had sickie cat put down yesterday. The vet was surprised the cat was still alive because she had tumors everywhere. The vet did say we could have gotten drugs and given the cat palliative care but said the cat was most likely in pain and very close to the end. So, we just did what was best. Poor kitty. 18 years though...she was playing with house money for a while. It'll be interesting to see if cat #2 changes her behavior at all with the alpha now gone.

Morning!

This house I've been walking by with the dogs has had a vacuum cleaner stuck in the eaves and running for the past week, and I've been wondering WTF is going on. Yesterday the home owner ran out to talk to me cause I was standing there staring. Shes vacuuming hornets out of the eaves, and even had a giant Mason jar of bodies to show me. Gotta appreciate the ingenuity.

Here. Busy work day.

Was informed by an old manager yesterday that my company is broadening our CFP services out to our govt market clients and one of my clients is the trial program. I was a big part of that going live because I was unable to provide enough of what our clients needed without getting myself into trouble - I know all the stuff, but don't have the title to back it up, so I can't touch it. It won't be going live for ~6 months, which is just about the amount of time it will take me to get my CFP, since I am already 1/3 of the way there from an ed perspective (formally). They will also be hiring govt specialist CFPs, since govt retirement plans are very nuanced, a broader market CFP likely doesn't know the important details.

TLDR; old manager gave me a 'nudge-nudge, wink-wink' and told me I have 6 months to get my CFP knowing I am 6 months from my CFP, to be added to a new, unannounced team of govt market specialist CFPs that launches in 6 months.

I have work to do. This will mean far less house projects, adtl workbenches will stop, my fun time will scale back greatly, and I need to focus for at least 6 months.

Sorry Babs. Sounds like he had a good run.

Trying to go to bed earlier and drink less, as I've been feeling like ass recently. Got decent sleep last night. Let's try again tonight.

Definitely not fall yet here-mid 90s tomorrow through the end of the week. Can't wait until leaf surfing season is upon us.

No meetings today but lots of busy work.

Light on work today, which is fine by me as I have a quick final project to do on the truck camper before I deliver it to the new owners later today. Couple of guys stopped over to check it out yesterday, and they liked it well enough to make me an offer. I liked their offer well enough to counter it with an offer they accepted, and here we are.

They're really new to the camper scene, and their brand-new F150 doesn't yet have tie downs installed, so I offered to deliver it for them. They were stoked, as it A.) gives them some time to figure out what they want to do for tie downs and get that done without rushing and B.) they got to help load the camper on to my truck and see how the process works... since they're new to it they were really stoked I took the time to show them this part of the deal.

The small project is that one of the screens had come unstitched from the canvas along one side... and I wasn't gonna take on fixing it as it's not a huge deal. But, I liked the guys that are buying it so I'm gonna take 30 minutes and stitch it up a bit.

SO HAPPY it's gone, and for a reasonable price both for me and for them.

IAB: sorry to hear about teh kitty. Little bag o' bones sounds like it had a good life.

Glad to hear it sold. :thumb:

Dude who bought mine slapped an 8' camper on his 6' bed truck, then threw a big ratchet strap over the top and tied it down to the frame. He knew it was sketch and told me that once he rolls out of the driveway its no longer my problem. How could I argue?

what nao....
I'm realizing that QAnon is actually a brilliant troll idea. Blame the Deep State and thus the lack of evidence feed directly into the conspiracy, and who could be against child sex trafficking, really?! (with the catch that it doesn't exist as per the plot).

QAnon idiots may well lead us straight down the shitter, and thus I will be forced to liquidate and move to NZ, which would be good long term but a huge pain in the ass short term.

These guys are putting a 6-3/4' camper into an F150 with a 5-1/2' bed. They were pretty restricted to a camper my size or smaller... I've seen plenty of 8' campers go into a 6-1/2' bed but that wasn't really gonna work out for them. I'm stoked they're willing to take the time to "do it right" with regards to tie down anchors and such, be shame if they lost the thing on 93 while driving it home to Bouldertucky.
